Question

Adding or Overriding Interactions on specific Interactive Component Variant

I have an Interactive Component that has several screens that can be navigated between using the bottom menu bar.

In my prototype, when I change from a specific variant, say screen A, to screen B and add interactions to the buttons. If I then launch the preview while still in Screen B the button interactions work.

However if I then switch back to Screen A and launch the prototype and navigate to Screen B from within the prototype the button interactions do not work.

I have gotten this to work before through trial and error but do not remember what finally worked. Is anyone here familiar with this and have a solution?

Thank you

One more detail that might help:
When inspecting the interaction Figma has an alert icon telling me that the Component’s inherited internal interaction will not trigger since it is being overridden by the Prototype’s instance interaction.

So it seems as though everything is setup correct but still not working.
