Is there a way to have the same file open in two separate windows?

Billie

I am doing a web series on UI and recording the whole design process. I wondered if there was an option to have the same file open in two separate windows. One for recording without all the zooming and panning around going on like you do in photoshop, affinity products etc? Thanks.

Yes there is! If you’re using the web browser, you can just open the same file or prototype in another tab. If you’re using the desktop app, you can open a new window by pressing Command + Shift + N. I do this all the time to view a live preview of my mobile designs on my secondary display.

Thank you so much. I’ll try this out later. Really appreciate it.

Yes, there is an option to have the same file open in two separate windows in software like Photoshop and Affinity products. In Photoshop, you can go to Window > Arrange > New Window For [filename] and uncheck the box marked ‘Zoom All Windows’ to maneuver them independently.

In Affinity products, you can use the View Tool to pan the document view and zoom in and out using the Zoom Tool.

This feature can be useful for recording the design process without all the zooming and panning around going on.
