You can turn masks off by either selecting the mask layer and clicking the “Use as mask” button in the toolbar or with a shortcut — Ctrl + Alt + M on Windows and Ctrl + Cmd + M on Mac.

option CMD M is minimising the Figma window altogether

I’ve tried all these methods to “unmask” an item and all that happens is it creates another mask on top of the first. I’ve completely destroyed components by accidentally masking them. No turning back

Quick FIx
to unmask an item or to remove a mask simply right click on the mask from the left side panel and select UNGROUP it automatically removes the mask

Thank you!

I don´t understand why these people can not add a funtion “unmask” its really hard to find out how to do it, and I needed many times, and I am still trying to figure out how to do it, they should learn from Illustrator.
