What's best practice for prototyping pages in a dashboard

Daraa_Design_Team

Hi,

I’m building a multi-user/product dashboard. I have an atoms based design approach. Everything works, but the file is non-performant. It’s slow to update and I’m not sure how to optimize Figma’s memory management across files, components, and libraries to keep things all in sync.

Right now I have a nav panel that uses variables and modes to switch b/w a big variant set operating within a swap component. It’s almost like a huge JSON. This doesn’t feel like the best way to use the tool, but figma’s constraints for keeping things on the same page in order for variables to work for prototypes and the slower or nonfunctional performance when breaking things up kind of leave me no choice for now.

Has anyone figured out how to seamlessly navigate pages using a nav panel where you have maybe ~8 categories of pages with ~12 subpages within each category? So ~100 variants
