My problem is that i never use #000000 in my designs, something which i believe is not uncommon. This means a lot of manual work changing every new text object to #333333 or whatever is used on the project im working on.

I would absolutely love a setting for this, where i could specify what hex would be used for new text objects. This is available in lots of other apps.

What do you think guys?

It’s already doable, but the only thing that might be a bit annoying is that it doesn’t just apply to text, but to objects as well.

I think it’s even better the way it currently works since you can more easily spot the layers that are not linked to colors. But yeah setting default properties would solve this too, although for me it seems like this setting is a bit fiddly and sometimes Figma forgets it, so I rarely use it.

Even after Edit - Set Default Properties, My default is still white text, I quit and restarted Figma , I wanted to make the default colour black text … no luck…
