Use of variables and visualization of final screens

Hi Figma fellows

I am working on a project where variables were used to prototype the interface.

Specifically, we used a variable that changes a save button from the unselected state to the selected state and simultaneously add the saved source to a container of saves.

You can see the concept here: https://share.cleanshot.com/L1lkKr2L

The problem is that, until the prototype is launched, this result on the right side cannot be shown to the client and developers.

How do you generally remedy this issue? I am using variables to keep the file light with few screens, without having to duplicate for every small change, but at the same time I feel the lack of not being able to show the flows without launching the prototype.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, Francesco.

If you want to show them the flow without launching the prototype, you will need to create storyboards. I know it’s going to be a lot of work but there is no remedy regarding this. Prototyping allows you to test your designs with interaction and creating storyboards can help you communicate your idea using static visuals.
