Hi Figma,

Yesterday 10.09.2024, I was able to group sections and frames together by pressing ctrl+g. However, today that option no longer works.

Here’s an image for reference: left side shows sections and frames grouped, while the right side shows sections and frames unable to be grouped.

Currently, I’m unsure if this was a feature or a bug; either or, it would be nice to have this ability reinstated, as I found it to be quite useful when organizing my work, thanks! 🥳

I would like this functionality back as well. This was exceptionally helpful for temporary blocking of content for spacing purposes.

Hopefully that feature does come back. In the meantime, does it help that you can put sections inside sections? To maintain visual clarity you’d need to add a fill to the parent section (which is annoying extra work), but if you’re in a bind that’s one solution.

Hey All, thanks for flagging this and sorry for the trouble!

This capability was actually bug. Sections aren’t meant to be grouped, and it was causing issues for annotations. A fix was launched for it last week.

I’ll update this topic into a feature request, and pass your feedback along to the team for possible, future reconsideration.

I really miss the ability to group sections too. It was super handy for organizing my designs quickly. I hope the team considers bringing this feature back in the future! Thanks for looking into it!
