I’m having problems with a few files in Figma; they lag a lot. For instance, when I try to duplicate or just move text, it lags significantly. I checked the memory usage on Figma, and it shows that the entire file is using only 0.8% of memory. I don’t understand why it is lagging so much if it is using less than 1% of memory. By the way, it lags even if it’s the only program open. I tried a command that cleans the app cache, but it didn’t change anything.

This looks odd, clearing the cache can help as sometimes issues in the app may be caused by something stored in the Figma app cache. The restarting step usually helps to make sure that the cache is properly cleared before reinstalling the app.

Thank you for your support. Unfortunately, even after clearing the cache, nothing changed in the app. I understand the importance of sharing the problematic file, but I prefer not to do that as it contains confidential material. I will try to recreate the issue in a new file and then send it.

I know some of you may have already tried troubleshooting, and it hasn’t helped. A couple of things I’d recommend trying as well, just to cover all bases:
-If you’ve already cleared the cache and cookies for Figma specifically already, open your choice of browser, and open a window in Incognito mode. Try loading Figma there to see if there are still issues.
-If you’ve not tried already: please try uninstalling the app completely, reinstalling, restarting your computer, and testing again.
At this time, since it sounds like it’s not an issue with a specific file, I would +1 @Celine_Figma’s message, and recommend filing a support ticket here. If the behavior is still slow, then that is something our tech quality team has requested be reviewed by them.
