+1 for this feature. Please add this! Coming from Sketch where this is “command+3” it would be super useful.
Currently Figma has “Shift+2” for zoom to fit, but that doesn’t work so well you have mobile or desktop designs with different heights.
I suggest having “Shift+3” for zoom to-fit-width. Currently that key command is not being used!
Yes please! Agree with @lukas_hurwitz , this was so helpful in Sketch and I’d love to see it in Figma too.
+1 . Just came here googling for such solution

Just thinking…
- and + keys do exactly the same (Zoom in / Zoom out) as CTRL++ and CTRL±
Why not configure CTRL± to Zoom Previous (back) and CTRL++ to Zoom Forward?
Or even the other way around, depending on the level of utilization and habit with other Apps.
It would be a great productive optimization feature.
For instance, it would be possible to make a Zoom to a detail with the magnifier and alternate very quickly between two levels just pressing + or -
Zooming in Figma is terrible!
We can theoretically use the entire canvas (although limited, which is another pain point) but we cannot zoom out to see everything and more easily zoom back into what we want. It’s just tons of time wasted scrolling around.
Why not make the zoom-ability adjust based on the amount of the used canvas + Xamount ?? If I’m only using 20k x 20k area, adjust the 0% to that amount.
This will save all of us tons of time and frustration looking for things that need a lot of space.
