WebP support for animated prototyping and export

Figma Team,
Happy Wed-Nes-Day. Is there any progress on publishing webP formats natively from Figma?

Is there an update for this? Why not support webP natively? I don’t consider any of the existing plugins to be ideal.

Agree with @Robert_Wolter - It feels as though Figma is ignoring this feature request. Yet, we can now better sort unassigned drafts. The compression is unparalleled in any format and in just a short time, it’s already being used on over 20% of the top 1m, 100k, 10k, and 1k websites.

We mostly use webp on all our web builds atm, this should be one fo the native export options. I can’t see how it would be particularly hard to add it as an option to the existing export options.

Really need this, sad to see it not treated as a real prio for them to include to be a proper web-compatible tool

Please make this a native feature! My org doesn’t allow plugins w/o review and approval, currently none of the plugins out there are solutions for exporting WebP for us. As a native feature, we wouldn’t have to change our workflow to use any external tools.

3 years after, large browsers support and still not a native feature… Figma hurry up please.

+1 pls support native webp export of images. Using plugins is okay, but looks like it must be a native functionality in Figma.

unreal this isn’t a feature. they added figma slides to go public to increase TAM for a segment no one was asking for or paying for, but still don’t have the most basic features needed by your core customers, the ones actually paying you money.
