Hey!
How can I transfer the AI generated Prototype in Figma Make to Figma Design and continue editing it manually there?
Thank you so much for this feature.
this is such a scam. i put literal weeks into designing my page, turns out i cant even transport it to figma design file. theres no point then. weak asf ai and also dont even can transfer it. so bad i will use squarespace instead of you scammers
fix your shxt
I just created a paid account assuming this was possible. Nope. At this point “Make” is no better than Claude Code, or Codex, or even just Sonnect 4.5 in Zed or Cursor. I don’t get it…. Oh, wait, I get it - it was to be the lead in for your free users [eye roll]. I tried copy design, but this really just copies the UI elements with zero understanding of the logic, so - its quite unremarkable. Its like Alphabet quoting that they have N million Gemini users, when really its just the normal user behavior using AI. Anyway, let’s hope those free users show growth help your earnings report - every employee needs some upside. And I say this not in jest but true goodwill. I feel like this should be attainable by now. I would think it could be done taking whatever model you are using, feeding it a bunch of MCP commands, which load whatever internal info you all need to manually edit designs. as it currently stands the “copy to design” is super weak - if it can’t copy all the views and examples, to the UI editor, then its almost of negative value. It just wastes peoples time.
In Vercel you can manually edit the designs some. I should have played with that - a co-worker of mine swears by it. Anyway, I’ll use it this month to try out the other products. But… yeah, I think you all will go down as one of the most over-valued companies ever. It’s unfortunate you all could not get the Adobe deal done.
I’d also just point out - that the idea that Figma Make should somehow be a separate product from Figma Design is off from a strategy perspective. Figma Design will be quickly left behind if it does not offer AI generative design built in. The two products should be one product, and completely integrated. You all should go about this fix as thinking “how do we make Design be powered by an LLM” vs “how do we move what an LLM created into Design”. Obviously, even if someone makes manual edits, they will want to keep making AI do a lot of work. I realize Make was probably a rushed thing an executive insisted on getting out the door to respond to the many AI design tools now on the market, but its truly putting a bad light on Figma. Design *is* your product. Everything else you have is entirely secondary.
If you can't transfer make file into design file, then make design is meaningless.
