Reorder variable collections list

After realizing the order is based on creation date, I re-added my primitives later. However, when I came back to view my Local Variables later, the order had switched. Again, I have to scroll past all of the primitives. Very frustrating. Because your semantic (or other) variables are based on primitives, it makes sense that you would add primitives first, therefore this problem will always be an issue and we should be allowed some sorting mechanism.

+1 to bump to the top. This would be a MASSIVE QoL improvement as our team just set up our first comprehensive token set.

The biggest advantage is to not see primitives at the top without being forced to hide them for paradigms that are less mature/decided on.

Having no way to define the order of our colors - or at the very least, limit the selection to a specific collection - is becoming a major issue as our library expands. We recently added data visualization colors to our design system, and despite being used less frequently, they appear first in the list when selecting a fill. Right now, it seems the only way to change this would be to re-add all our primitives and tokens, which isn’t ideal.

+1 This is quite a big source of confusion for all our team. Not being able to reorder is quite a big pain for such a small feature. Is there any way to vote for this feature?

To sort by most recent creation is very counterintuitive when building out a system, as others have pointed out. You naturally start with essentials and add nuance as you go. To have the core essentials demoted as you build that nuance is a nasty side effect. This seems like an early variables adoption strategy / necessity that was outdated as soon as drag-to-sort was added to the variables panel. Sort logic should have been updated then. Can’t think of a single reason why the sort wouldn’t be based on the structure of the variables panel at this point. 

+1 Having this feature would help a lot. I was surprised to find out that it’s actually not currently possible.

+1 to this. Having a massive big list to scroll past is frustrating. Being able to order them would big a big workflow improvement for me & my team.
