Lock section position

Agreed. This would be extremely useful. I’m working on a project that frequently needs multiple frames and objects in a section to be selected and moved around, and I keep accidentally clicking and dragging the frame itself. I then have to stop what I am doing, zoom out, and put it back in place.

Pinning the frame in place OR only allowing it to be moved when selected via the title at the to would be a lifesaver.

I couldn’t agree more! I so often move frames by mistake. It’s really annoying.

It should be possible to lock the frame and move its contents.
Also, section names could be bigger and more distinguishable.

I would suggest to add the feature Photoshop is using, where you can lock a layer on different attributes. Photoshop has the following and I will debate on topic:

• Lock transparent Pixels - Not needed at all
• Lock image Pixels - Could be nice but not mandatory - We don’t have that many choices when it comes to image editing within Figma
• Lock position - Super Important in my opinion, when setting up templates or slides, you lock the position on the frame, by still giving them the opportunity to add content to the frame (mainly text and image frame). For text content, the layer has to have a main anchor set.
• Lock auto-nesting - Not needed
• Lock all attributes - We have this already by locking the layer - Good for locking in logos and main brand elements.

I would argue that we need the rest, but Lock position and Lock all attributes I believe it’s a must in Figma and can be achieved rather seamlessly with the current Development Roadmap.

Please fix this!! Allow moving section only when selecting the title!

Another vote for only allowing a section to be moved on selecting the title. It’s a problem working on designs within the section and leads to frustration and errors.

+1, locking Sections without locking it’s contents would make Sections SO much easier to use. Is there a constraint we’re not understanding, or has this just not make it through the backlog yet?

The title already explains everything, there’s no need to add anything else.
