[LAUNCHED] All plans should offer more than 4 variable modes

It would be great if the professional plan offered more than 4 variable modes. Right now I want to set up a mode for each component size-- XS - XL, 5 sizes all together-- which puts me over the 4 limit for pro, but well under the 40 limit for enterprise, which is a quantity I will never need. And there’s no use case for enterprise at all for a team our size.

I think 10-12 modes for pro would be perfect to give small teams like mine room to grow before we reach the scale where an enterprise plan would be worth consideration.

    It’s finally here - mode count updates across Pro and Org. 

    Pro → 10
    Org → 20

    I want to thank everyone who posted in this thread - we used a lot of the responses here to inform the mode increase decision. Happy theme swapping y’all :)

      Yeah, Variables with Fonts. But if you want to idk use 5 sizes for your body font then well you can’t 🫤 GJ Figma

      The limit of 4 variables for Org Plan is keeping our entire company from implementing this super valuable and game-changing feature.

        I asked in the Q&A whether they had any plans to expand the number of modes for tiers below Enterprise, which was one of the few questions not to get a response. Someone else asked a similar question, and it was marked saying it would be answered live by Jacob (Miller?), but was never addressed. WTF?

                  We we’re looking at the organization plan assuming we’d get more variable modes.
                  We only need 6 or so modes.

                  Even if Org plan had more modes it’s a bit excessive to 3.75x the price of the subscription just for more modes.

                  We’re also not so into the branching feature since I can’t upskill anyone on the team to use it without committing to the Org plan.

                    This limit seems completely arbitrary. Independent designers/freelancers want more modes. I have breakpoints > 4 and for each I want to define variables for each of my site type items. But I can’t, so this feature is now useless to me.

                    Very disappointed at this limit. Feels very Adobe.
