Is it possible to change default font in Figma?

I feel like every 6 months to a year I check to see if setting my default font is possible. Hope it’ll happen in 2026!

+1 for this functionality! This would keep collaborators from going rogue, and keep designers that aren’t charged with maintaining the design system compliant by default.

Add me to the list of people wanting to change default font. This has constantly been a challenge. I get a contractor who isn’t familiar enough with our fonts to think about it. And our default is just close enough to Inter, that I don’t notice right away then we end up with developers having to redo things because they used Inter.

Can't change Figma's actual default yet (still hoping they add it). As a workaround I built a free plugin, Fonts Changer — you can star your go-to font so it stays pinned at the top, then swap Inter for your font across a selection, a page, or the whole file in one pass. Not a true default, but it kills the repetitive re-picking.
