Has the canvas panning keyboard shortcuts changed recently? I use Ctrl+Space+scroll wheel to pan and zoom the canvas but now that keyboard shortcut puts me into a Keyboard picking mode. Is this new? It really gets in the way of working.
I have the same issue. I also want to disable this feature to free up my shortcut key usage.
My ⌥ + Space shortcut is configured for a certain function in another global product, such as instantly invoking an AI Chat Box.
However, a recent update to Figma seems to have added functionality to this shortcut, causing it to frequently fail when I use it. To this day, I still don't even know what ‘Keyboard pick selection activated' and 'Keyboard box selection activated' is supposed to do.
I'm facing an issue in Figma where it shows the message "Keyboard Box Selection Activated." I’ve searched online and found that pressing Shift + B should disable it, but that hasn’t worked for me.
If anyone knows how to resolve this, kindly share.
Ctrl+space, activates it, and by testing it. There are two modes, one box selection and another pick selection, so there is currently no way to disable it, you can switch using shortcut keys mentioned above.
According to what I noticed these are for the people not using mouse at all, they can select elements using this, and move around.
Hi everyone! Thanks everyone for flagging this. Just to clarify: there isn’t currently an option in Figma to disable the “Keyboard pick selection activated” or “Keyboard box selection activated” modes at this time. We’ve shared your feedback with our team internally.
(After checking with our team, please also note that Space isn’t part of the scrolling gesture:
Ctrl + Mouse scroll: zooms the canvas
The fact that Ctrl + Space + Mouse scroll used to work before was incidental, not an intended feature. Hope this clarifies!)
