  1. Describe the problem your experiencing and how your idea helps solve this

Background scrolls with other elements. When I set “Fix position when scrolling” it jump upper and overlap other elements.

  1. Goal

Make background static when other elements can be scrolled on top of it.

  1. Solution

Add 3rd tab of scrolling type in the next order:

FIXED
…
SCROLLS
…
BACKGROUND or “BACK ELEMENTS” which is fixed but placed under the "SCROLLS’ layers.

Thanks!

You don’t have to set the element (e.g. the background image) which has an absolute position to the top.

Just to make sure you set the order of the parent auto-layout frame to first on top (have a look at the image attached).

I’m having the same issue while creating an agenda table view where some elements need to be fixed below others that scroll. 🥺
I’m pretty sure you could do this on older versions of Figma, wich is weird.

I tried this fix for the same problem, but it’s not working. I also have a fixed navbar in addition to the fixed background image.

@Veronica_Alegria1 has a great “hack” solution for this, but to the Figma team: I wouldn’t consider this fully solved since a native solution would be much better. I want to +1 all the requests to allow elements to be “fixed” while maintaining their existing place in the layer hierarchy. That just seems to make much more sense from a flexibility and control standpoint. While it might make the layers panel interface potentially more convoluted, there must be ways to visually differentiate these elements other than section headers “FIXED” and “SCROLLS”.
