Comments stick to object instead of position on layout

The comments feature is very handy amongst the colleagues.

It would be nice if the comments bubbles would stick to the object instead of sticking to the position within the frame.

Since we are moving stuff around ( adding or subtracting elements ) the comments made should stick to the proper parts of the design.

Otherwise, when we move things around, the comments don’t make sense anymore because they do not relate to the object’s new position.

Is this yet another QOL improvement destined to gather dust for years? It’s a little shocking that no one saw the issue in NOT anchoring comments to objects/elements. I guess it would present a challenge if an object was deleted, but it seems way worse trying to navigate comments on a constantly evolving design.

UP
This needs to be improved ASAP

Let’s hope this pain point is part of Figma’s roadmap as we can clearly see the issue has been reported 4 years ago and is still relevant to this day.

This totally would have been done before the acquisition by Adobe.

Sticky comments would have been way more helpful than the recent UI overhaul.

Sticky comments please, please, please.

+1 to needing this.

They at least have annotations which stick where you put them. Doesn’t help non-Figma stakeholders who leave comments, though. Sticky comments still needed.
