Continuing the discussion from Comments | Hiding the Figma UI (`⌘`+``) and showing it again shouldn't also control comments` visibility:

It would be amazing having the old Figma appearance back. It’s annoying having to press Shift + C every single time I have to open Figma (I switch accounts constantly) and the comments are always there.

Figma could ask “Would you like having the comments hidden the next time you open it?” or something that would allow me to save my customizations.

Cheers and have a lovely and productive week. 👍

I find it odd that the comments pane on the right is only visible when the comment tool is active. Perhaps it could be a fourth option next to Design/Prototype/Inspect/Comments and not be tied to the tool being active.

That said, I have not thought through all the permutations of the UX of that, but it feels like an odd UX to me to have to see them by activating a tool.

(I added this comment originally by an accidental duplicate account by mistake)

I saw other topics like this, but no solutions.

i have ONE file where the comments won’t stay hidden. Every time I open the file there are comments everywhere! I can’t stand it anymore.

if I tell you to hide comments, I mean until I unhide them. This should persist.

anyone solved this? Am I not finding a setting?

i also am annoyed that if I tell a file not to show dimensions on objects, next time I open that file they are back!

this is basic UX stuff here!

that was part rant, part plea for help
