AVIF is already supported by Chrome and Firefox and Safari.
It would be good to also have animated AVIF supported for prototypes the same way that gifs play when viewing a prototype.

Honestly, this is the most frustrating thing about Figma right now. I feel like support for widely used web standards should be a given in a tool used for digital design -_-

Bump, can we get support for exporting to WebP and AVIF file formats. I am not entirely sure about WebP but AVIF is open-source and non-proprietary! Our Company is moving towards using AVIF with WEBP as fallback and exporting to these formats directly from Figma would be great!
BUMP, can’t drag drop images into Figma from our own site into new designs / as image content, which is not becoming more limiting.
