When swapping libraries figma only swaps styles and components that are named exactly the same. If you have named components with spaced between “/” like so: “Alerts / Error” it will not match “Alert/Error” when swapping libraries. It would be nice if the spaces adjacent to the “/” in names are stripped when figma tries to match the components. Or figma tries to find components/styles with spaces and without, So you get an option if there are two matches. With huge libraries and many of them, Its a pain to go through them all and rename styles and components correctly.

I’ve looked at all the discussion threads, I think I didn’t miss a discussion about this topic if there was one. Situation: The frame names are not shown when copy and paste frames from Figma to FigJam Since so many friends requested the sync for FigJam when Figma is updated… Can we have the frame name to be updated and synced to FigJam as well? We received the request from our SQA team. They expect the frame name of Figma files can also be shown on FigJam; therefore, they can double-check if it’s the right page.

It is really frustrating trying to navigate around Figma. I expect the left side panel to be a directory structure. I don’t like having to click “all teams” (I’m only part of 1) and click through card-style links. Sometimes I’m taken to a page and I don’t know how I got there or have a clear mental model of “where” i am in Figma.

Would be great to be able to set certain elements on a FigJam board as a reusable component. Use case: I’m currently looking at competitors. Across various regions, some competitors are repeated in various regions, each competitor card has a set of information on it, that I now have to repeat multiple times unnessarily. This kind of use case in FigJam happens a lot with me where I need to reuse a component on the board I am on, and am not able to. I know I can bring components in from a Figma file, but that’s not the same, and doesn’t work great.

To the Product Team, from a Figma user in Japan: Language settings for Figma and FigJam: Figma and FigJam are currently designed to operate in the same language. However, in the context of Figma’s design work, English is commonly used, while FigJam often employs Japanese to facilitate collaboration with non-designers and clients. As a suggestion, introducing the capability to independently set the language for Figma and FigJam could enhance user convenience. I often click a frame and get its URL to paste into a Jira ticket. Right now, I have to click Share, then Copy Link. My instinct is to just hit Command + C after I select the frame. But when I paste that into the ticket, it pastes all of the frame’s text rather than the frame’s URL.

For designing accessibility states in components i would love to add an inside and outside border to one single element. Does anyone have a solution / work around for this or could this be a new feature.

We can tie the same functionality to different components no need to create separate variables.

Cursor chat is a great way to quickly communicate or interact with other stakeholders in the design file. However, most non-designers are not familiar with how to use it. I recently made a card for it and added it to the Quick Tips section in FigJam. It would be useful to have that pre-added.

At my org we have separate pages within a single file for our design scratchboard/sandbox and official designs that we want stakeholders to see and/or review. It would be nice to be able to control which pages are actually visible to non-editors in order to prevent wandering eyes and people getting confused about what to look at.

First Idea: This sounds crazy. I’d love to suggest if Figma could develop a watch app so designers who create app for both WearOS and WatchOS could interact with thier designs without having to use third-party platforms for prototyping. The app I am suggesting is just like the traditional mobile app that allows designers interact with the interfaces while they design. “Mirror Section” to be precise. Second Idea: Hey Figma, could you please add frames for wearables running on Google WearOS (e.g Galaxy Watch5, Gen 6 Wellness and Summit)? I loved the experience I got when prototyping the UIs for Apple Watch. What do you guys think? Kindly share your thoughts please. Thanks!

Imagine the ease of using generative fill inside the Figma UI. Not having to wait for the whole launching screen from Photoshop, create a new board, import the image, and make a selection, etc. They could also have a “remove background” plugin. Illustrator could implement a vectorization plugin. The possibilities are endless. It still wouldn’t make their software obsolete, as there would be a lot more granular things you could do with each app. But it would simplify a lot of Figma users’ workflows. Not to mention, they would likely dominate the plugin store.

First off, let me say that for this post I am using the term “panels”(perhaps mistakingly) to refer to the two UI columns in Figma on the left (containing Layers and Assets) and the right (containing the Design and Prototyping tools). They are contained within the window and are fixed and inflexible. By "palette,” for this post, I am referring to the UI elements in many Adobe applications (but not XD) that are like mini-windows. You can move them around and resize them freely. And show and hide them individually and at will. And save your arrangement of palettes in order to have more than one. One of the biggest problems I have with Figma (and frankly, XD) UI is these panels: 1. Tools and functions come and go depending on what exactly is selected. I find myself frequently searching for a button or a menu that jumps up and down within the panel and sometimes disappears. If the panel were a palette, then I would immediately see the item I’m looking and be able to click it OR see that it

When I drag a new interaction from a layer to a frame, I would love to have “Open overlay” as an implicit, slightly magical setting, if the target frame is smaller size than the origin one. (I am sure you can define it more precisely, the point is I keep changing implicit “navigate to” to “open overlay” a bit too often and I feel it is unnecessary.) Thanks for considering! 💞

I have a problem with Figma hiding the actual numeric values of layer paddings and margins. It’s always variables, everywhere, unless you really insist. For example, to see the numeric value of the paddings here: I have to click on the corresponding layer, and then hover the variable in the inspect pane. It’s better for dimensions, because while it does say “auto” here, it at least still shows you the actual size: (this is actually a very welcome improvement brought by the developer mode — it was only “hug”/“fill” before that) My idea is that the developer should not be exposed to what the designer has done to make their work easier. Such a setting would make it comfortable for both the designers and the developers — the designer would still use their variables, but the developer would see the raw numbers if that fits their workflow better. No compromises from either side. Or not even a setting, just show the numeric values next to the variables like it’s already done for dimensions.

Why is this still an issue? What does resetting styles back to the default have to do with the prototype flow? It’s been years that we’ve been dealing with this. Hunt and pick every component, waste hours instead of doing something simply. Also - for the hundredth time - when you reset styles you don’t need to reset content (text + icons). That’s just basic logic.

We often use firgjam for whiteboarding and followup with voting via stamps for the most compelling ideas/directions. Within AI, you can sort the stickies, but could they also be sorted by # of votes per sticky note?

Absolutely necessary feature request: 1. Describe the problem your experiencing and how your idea helps solve this Can’t copy/clone the position, width & height, scale, rotation of element 2. Add as much context as possible (screenshots, Figma files, mockups, etc.) Click special button/eyedropper and copy/clone the position, width & height, scale, rotation of element to another similar element. I know, there are plugins doing that. But the call of plugin action leads to termination of currently running plugin. It’s sad.

In FigJam, when I’m focused in the last cell/row of a table, I’m used to pressing “Tab” to advance to the first line of the next row. Current behavior is to advance to another location on the canvas I’m in. This behavior is jarring and I can’t imagine that anyone would prefer this.
