We Need to Make FigPals a Permanent Feature! Sign the Petition! š¾
Alright, guysĀ FigPals were the best (and weirdest) thing to come out of April Foolsā this year. They follow your cursor, help you design, and love you unconditionally⦠maybe too much. š
But hereās the problemātheyāre only available for April Fun Week! š
We canāt let this be just a one-time joke. FigPals deserve to be a permanent feature (with a toggle for those who donāt want constant companionship). Thatās why I made a Change.org petition to show Figma how much we want to keep them!
Dear Figma Gods, donāt take my figpal away from me pls š
I NEED it in my design files! šāā¹ļø Not in FigJam š(I donāt use it)Ā
As a designer with ADHD IĀ find the FigPal really helpful as almostĀ a body double, helping me keep on task and not loose focus, not to mention it is adorable!Ā š Please consider keeping this feature as it has brought me much joy and has raised team morale.Ā
Can we please have actual features in the headerĀ instead of removing and burrying useful features and keeping meme features. What the hell is Figma actually doing.
So true, I think Figma team has problem with product management. They ruined everything after UI3 updateĀ
āYou canāt take the *frog* from meeeeā
Ā
Ā
Why would Figma give me a pal and take it away? So cruel. Donāt move my pal to FigJam. My organization doesnāt encourage us to use FigJam because we have other tools already. I want my buddy with me in Figma!!!Ā
Ā
Please leave FigPals in as a feature.
Of course the Figma team wouldnāt let FigPals remain without finding a way to monetize them.Ā š
Ā
Since my org doesnāt use FigJam, RIP my beautiful son Goober. Let Sarah McLachlan guide you into the stars, until the day when an enterprising plugin developer returns you to my Figma files and my heart.
Ā
Ā
Please keep the figpals! My team and I love them. Theyāre a really cute and fun addition to figma. We will be sad to see them leave.Ā š
Figpals are such a cute addition to Figma that allows for a fun customizable experience while designing. I enjoy them so much and must ask that this remain a permanent feature in Figma.
Donāt take Thinky Cat away from me. He keeps me company while I work, and he loves when I feed him vector hot dogs.

I didnāt even get a screenshot of Figbert...
Why even being so cruel? I got used to it so much. And now itās goneĀ š«
I genuinely felt bad when saw my figpal was no longer there anymore. I didnāt know it was an aprilās fool thing.Ā I signed, thanks!
Free my beautiful son!

i wish i had the skills to turn this into a plugin š

I don't think you can do that even if you had the skills to do so, because although I still have only a few months of figma experience at this point, I have yet to see a single plugin that isnāt confined by a pop-up window.
That being said if you could make said pop-up window have no borders, no close button, a completely transparent background AND make the window follow your mouse cursor, THEN you might be able to reimplement pals by simply rendering the pals inside of an invisible pop-up window.
Ā
But I don't believe plugins currently allow for that level of freedom
Figpals are super cute. It's a shame to waste so much work on them just for April Fools' Dayā¦Ā

With some alterations that could totally bring FigPals back. Still need to find the time to try making plugins myself though
I already miss my Figpal.
These charming little characters have brought a surprising amount of joy and lightness to my daily work.
In the middle of long hours of design, deadlines, and focus, seeing them pop up feels like a small reminder that creativity can be playful too. Itās such a simple thing, but it makes a real difference. They add personality and warmth in a space thatās often so focused on efficiency and structure.
Iād really love for you to consider keeping them around. It's little touches like this that remind us there's a human side to the work we do.
Steve was my friend & I miss him. Please Figma bring back our joy.
Please bring back Figpal!
I feel like I had a virtual cat and now I lost a friendĀ š Bring it back
