Where is the Layer Section

Was looking to update the Variable mode for a section. Just realized the “Layer” section in the right panel is no longer there. Is there a setting that I’m missing, because it used to be there under the “Section” area.

Layer is Appearance now

But the Variable Mode is still missing. On Page, it’s there, but for Section, it’s not. See screen shot.

And per Figma’s Help Center (https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/15343816063383-Modes-for-variables#:~:text=on%20an%20object%3A-,Select%20the%20layer%2C%20group%2C%20or%20container%20object.,collection%20and%20choose%20a%20mode.), the directions state to press the variable icon under Appearance.

Variable mode shows for a Group or Grame, just not for a Section.
