I have already published my  library successfully. However, when I click “Export to Figma Make”, I keep receiving an error message and the export does not go through.

At the moment, I am not sure what is causing this issue. I would appreciate it if you could help me identify the reason and suggest a solution.

Hi,

When I try to add my design system to create a kit in Figma Make, I get the following error:

“We ran into an error while adding your library.”

I also tested with a simplified version of the design system that only includes our foundation styles, but encountered the same issue. All of our design systems are accessible within our org.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Same here… tried, retried, deleted, started over, etc.

Same here. Many many tries. And the “step by step” get marked as complete 🙃

Jumped to Google Stitch for tonight’s work..

Mine errored the same way, I kept going without it (I wanted to try NPM imports too), I actually made it to step 4, with an enabled “publish kit” button, in the prompt area, but it did nothing after pressing it.

Also, there is a second “publish kit” button in the top right that never enabled… I’m very confused. 🤷🏻

+1, clearing cache and re-publishing library did not fix.

Hey everyone @Xavier Coulombe @Ben_Marker @cchm @ShawnE , thanks so much for flagging this and for sharing your experiences.

I’m sorry that you’re running into issues when creating a kit in Figma Make.

I’ve shared these reports with our Engineering team, and they’re actively investigating.

In the meantime, please submit a bug report by clicking the question mark icon in the bottom-right corner of any page within Figma and selecting Contact support, or via the Support Hub: Start a chat → type “Report a bug.”

This will help the team take a closer look and assist you directly.

Please also share a direct link to your impacted file and invite support-share@figma.com with “Can View” access. This will not impact your billing and will allow us to reproduce the issue and investigate with Engineering.

Hi @RayP

I understand you're running into trouble with the "Export to Figma Make" feature.

Thanks for letting us know the library is already published, that's a helpful detail.

That error usually points to something in the library file that's preventing the export. Here are a few common things you can try:

  • First, try simply refreshing Figma.
  • Duplicate the library file, then try publishing and exporting from the new copy. This often fixes issues with corrupted components.
  • Check if the library is very large. If so, consider splitting it into smaller libraries.
  • Ensure all dependent libraries are published and that you have "Can edit" permissions on the file.

If the issue continues after trying these steps, please check the private message I'm about to send you for further assistance.

Thanks!

Just a quick follow-up. After checking with the team, it looks like this is related to a known issue we're currently tracking.

To make it easier for other community members to find this thread, I've updated the post title to include the error message: "We ran into an error while adding your library."

@RayP  I've gone ahead and created a support ticket (#1827277) for you so our team can take a closer look. You'll receive a confirmation email shortly.

We’ll post an update in this thread once one becomes available.

HI @Celyn_L
The issue persist for me. I’m getting the same error as before.
The only difference I can see is that the imported library has a warning icon now.

It worked here. No more errors. Thanks @Junko3 @Celyn_L

Its not fixed for me. I get the same error, just a different icon on the affected folder(s).  I also now get an “Already imported”, when it failed?   I’m still not sure which is true… imported or failed?
Should I open a ticket?
