Question

upgraded to pro so that I can add a library but it doesn't work. How can I add a library to my account?

Patrick Clancy

I upgraded to pro over the weekend so that I could add the Shadcn UI Kit for Figma. It’s a library of components. I’ve followed these instructions but I can’t get it to publish to my account.

https://www.shadcndesign.com/docs/getting-started

Every time I try to publish it a figma dialog asks me to upgrade to pro. But I’ve already upgraded my account to pro. I only have one account and it’s a pro account.

How can I add this UI library to my account?

Hi @Patrick Clancy, Thank you for reaching out about this.

When you tried to publish, did you see the message “Share components with your team when you upgrade to a Professional plan” in the Manage libraries modal?

If you did, could you please double-check whether that file is in a Pro team?

In Figma, plans are associated with specific teams rather than individual user accounts, and projects and files are organized within those teams.

It seems you have access to several teams, including some that are on the Pro plan. In your file browser, you can switch between your team by clicking the icon next to the team name.

I hope this helps.

If the file is already in a Pro team and you still see the same message and can't publish, I recommend to reaching out our support team. Please refer to this guide: Submit a bug report

Thank you once again!

Hi @Junko3  thank you for helping me out.

(I don’t really get the whole account vs team thing but let’s ignore that for now.)

  • I do have my pro plan team selected.

I’m trying to follow the instructions provided by the UI kit. (attached)

I’m unable to complete step one in those instructions. When I click on the book icon it wants me to upgrade to pro. (“Share components with your team when you upgrade to a Professional plan”)  (attached)

Please note: This is how they instructed me to open their UI kit prior to publishing (attached)

Hi @Patrick Clancy , Thank you for sharing your screenshot!

It looks like the file is in the “Drafts to move” section. It can be a little confusing, but that section is just a temporary spot until you move the files into the “Drafts” area of one of your teams.

You can find more details about the "Drafts to move" section here: Updates to How Drafts Work.

Could you please try moving the file into the Drafts space within one of your Pro teams and see if that works?

Thanks,
