hi! I´m with the same problem. I´m the owner document but my collages can edit. Could you help me, please?

Hi @in.stanilevich - sorry about the trouble! I saw that you had replied to another topic related to your issue here, and decided to split it into it’s own topic. We like to try and keep user permission issues separate to avoid any potential confusion.

Just to make sure: you own a file, shared edit access to your colleagues, and they still can’t edit? Do your colleagues get that same message of “An Admin needs to update your seat so you can edit file” when they try to edit?

Before anything else, you may want to check in with the admins on your organization -- It’s possible that your they only gave “view only” seats to your colleagues, which is why they can’t edit. See here for details on how seats work.

If that’s the case, your Figma admins will need to update the seat types for your colleagues in order for you them to edit files they were invited to. I’d recommend reaching out to them to verify. If you still have trouble or confusion with this, let me know -- I understand that it can get a bit overwhelming 😅

Hi @LenoraHoeger, thanks for following up!

That’s definitely odd that you’re the owner, but are not able to edit. Permissions at the team level can overrule permissions at the project or file level.

Are you able to share a link to the file? We can try to take a look on the backend to see how its permissions are set up.
