I’m a postgraduate design student at Monash University, and I’ve been trying to access Figma’s Education Program for several weeks now. Unfortunately, what should be a simple verification process has turned into a loop of rejections, blocked attempts, and system errors — all thanks to SheerID.
Here’s what happened:
I submitted my government-issued ID (first a South Australia Age Card, then my passport), as requested. The photos were clear, glare-free, and unedited — I followed every requirement listed.
As a result, I received “We were unable to confirm your identity”, with no explanation given.
Even more frustratingly, I was never given a chance to upload my student ID or proof of enrolment — the verification flow simply didn’t include that step.
Eventually, I was locked out entirely with a “Verification Limit Exceeded” screen, despite doing everything by the book.
SheerID’s support did reply (and I genuinely appreciate that their support staff were polite), but they just reset the process and asked me to try again — which, of course, led to the exact same problem.
At this point, I feel completely defeated. I’m trying to access Figma for actual university assignments, and yet I’m stuck in a broken system that doesn’t seem to recognize real, valid documentation. I’m not trying to get a discount or game the system — I’m just a student trying to do her work.
I’ve always respected Figma as a brand, and I know your support team is doing their best, but I can’t help feeling that hiding behind SheerID is not the solution. If SheerID’s system is failing real students, then Figma should take responsibility for stepping in and providing a human pathway to support.
I’m more than happy to provide my student ID, enrolment letter, even join a video call if necessary. I just need someone to care enough to solve the problem.

I have tried multiple times contacting the customer care sheed but SHEERID doesnt do anything they say click this kind of picture that kind of picture but how should i even try again when it says max limit reached. And how can you use your govt id to verify as a student atleast ask an I-20 or some student related id . Can anyone help me how can I verify myself as a student ?

Hi there! I am seeking assistance regarding the verification of my Figma Educational Status.
I am a lecturer teaching Multimedia Design and Interface Design at Natinal Taiwan University of Arts. I have been using and teaching Figma since 2021, and my educational status has been verified since then. My students consistently find Figma extremely useful and beneficial in various aspects of our coursework. I teach approximately 200 students using Figma each year.
About Weeks ago, I received a new verification request. I currently use two educational accounts (for two different universities), both registered with official school email addresses. One account was verified successfully, but the other was not.
To support the verification, I submitted my course syllabus, school ID card, letter of appointment, and even my government-issued ID card (front and back), as requested by SheerID. However, I received a response stating:
“The first name on the document does not match the first name you entered on your verification form.”
I suspect this issue may be due to differences in how Asian names are formatted—typically, the family name comes first, followed by the given name, especially on official documents.
Additionally, documents issued by the government and universities in Taiwan are written in Traditional Chinese and use the Republic of China (ROC) calendar year format.
After several attempts and uploading nearly all relevant documents, I received a
“Verification Limit Exceeded” message. And SheerID replied “Your ticket has now been permanently closed”.
As this is the beginning of a new semester, many new students are creating Figma accounts. Unfortunately, the success rate of educational verification in my class is only around 60%, and some students are encountering the same “Verification Limit Exceeded” issue.
I’ve been written letters to SheerID and FIgma Suppourt with no reply. Since all current educational users must re-verify their status before September 29, 2025, this has become an urgent issue in my classes. Any help, guidance, or suggestions you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Contacted SheerID 2+ times — they only say retake the photo and claim they’ve reset my attempt; they also said they can’t verify by email. After checking the figma community, I saw advice to contact education@figma.com, which I did on 26th, but no response until now.
Classmates passed with school verification only; I’m being forced into a government ID step that appears broken.
I need uninterrupted access for my November graduation show; plan expires tomorrow (Sept 29, KST).
Please:
Escalate this infinite-loading bug on my account.
Manually verify or grant a temporary extension while it’s fixed.
If there’s an alternate path (school confirmation), tell me how to proceed.
I’ve been blocked since Sept 23 — I need help today.

I havent been able to verify my account.I attempted to re-verify my Figma student account, but the system is now showing “Verification limit exceeded.” and it’s auto-rejecting my Id everytime I upload.
No contact has been made from SheerId side for manual verification. I have a college bonafide that proves I am a student. I dont know what else to do since only 1 day is left. No help has been provided from SheerId’s side since the very beginning. They just conveniently keep closing the tickets permanently.
Please look into this and do the needful.
This is quite frustrating as a user. And contacting SheerId directly is leading to absolutely nothing. I have been trying this since the last 15 days and only 1 day is left now. I don’t know what to do.

I’m having persistent trouble with the Figma Education reverification process and would appreciate support from the Figma team or advice from anyone who has experienced something similar.
I’m based in India and currently enrolled in higher education. I was previously verified under the Education program, but now my account requires reverification.
I’ve tried submitting different valid documents (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, and my college student ID), but each attempt has been rejected. I made sure to follow SheerID’s guidelines carefully — using a flat dark surface, good lighting, no glare or shadows, full frame, and uploading both sides when required.
I also reached out to SheerID support. They confirmed that:
They cannot verify IDs manually through email.
Government ID checks must go through the platform itself.
This leaves me stuck: my documents are genuine, but the platform rejects them every time. I even hit the attempt limit once, had it reset, and retried — but with the same result.
Since I need my Education account active urgently for ongoing academic projects, I’d like to know:
Is there any alternative way to complete reverification?
Can Figma manually review or escalate such cases?
Have other students in India faced similar issues with Aadhaar, PAN, or student IDs — and if so, how did you resolve them?

Therefore, they mentioned that the ID must be verified directly through Figma.
Unfortunately, they also informed me that they are no longer able to assist and have permanently closed the support ticket.
I have already tried all the suggested solutions provided, but none of them worked. Could you please let me know where or how I can resolve this issue? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have to verify my educator status!.
Eventhough i have uploaded My Teacher ID, Bonafide from the Institution, My status is not yet verified. I’m Trying over a month.
It says my Last name mismatched in the Teacher ID, Then I got my Bonafied and uploaded the same, but no update.
I have contacted the SheerID support Team also, But They didn’t respond properly. With Just 2 replies they closed the ticket!!

I tried different combinations of documents, such as: - Passport & certificate of enrollment - Passport & front of ID card - Front & back of ID card
However, now when I visit the upload page, I only see a message saying "Verification Limit Exceeded."

I have been using Figma for three years with my students.
This year, I was asked to verify my academic status.
I provided:
1- a link to my university's website
2- an official letter from the registrar's office
3- my teaching contract
Yet I was still rejected.

I’m a graphic design student in higher education from France and have been using Figma for about 3 years now, never had any problem whatosever. A few days back i had to verify my account to prove i’m still a student, as always, but this time the auto verification doesn’t seems to work. I don’t understand why this year specifically the verification process isn’t working , since nothing has changed for the past 5 years(date at which i started studying).
