Yesterday I’ve made changes to the design in Figma. My other designer didn’t refresh the local file, and when she got back to the project today, she basically worked on her yesterday version of the project. This way she deleted all the changes that I’ve been implementing for a few hours. This shouldn’t happen. You should have some scripts to check if there’s a new version of the design, when somebody gets back to the project that is shared between many people.
Hi
I understand that your team has trouble with file syncing and that you lost a few hours of work – that's super frustrating.
To make sure I understand your team's workflow correctly, could you tell me which of these scenarios sounds more like what happened?
- You and the other designer were both looking at different versions of the same file while you were both online.
- Having an unreliable internet connection, or if the connection unexpectedly dropped while someone was working on the file.
If it's more like 1, then the file might be having a syncing issue.
If this happens often, we want to connect you with the right team to take a closer look. Could you please share the following information for both you and the other designer?
- Does this issue happen on the Figma desktop app or in a browser?
- If it's a browser, which one are you using, and what's the version number?
If it sounds more like 2, just a heads-up that Figma is cloud-based, so a stable internet connection is key for real-time collaboration.

You could also try checking the version history and duplicating a version if you find one that still has your work.
Here's a guide : View a file's version history
