So we used to be able to reset the name of text layers (so that they automatically are naemd after their content) by simply deleting the name. Now Figma has removed the ability to do this. Has anyone found another way to reset the name, or are all my layers now ruined?

Hi everyone, and thanks for your patience! The fix has been launched. If you refresh any open tabs you should find that you can now restore your text names to auto-update as previously.
I tried and it’s working fine.
Original Name
Changed Name
Delete Name
Reset to original automatically
Still not working for me, but Figma said in another post that they are working on fixing it
“Delete the layer name and keepit blank to resync with the textlayer’s value.” Why is this feature gone? Very inconvenient!

I’m also facing the same issue and it’s quite frustrating!
Before, when I erased the entire Text layer name and hit Enter, the Text layer name would automatically update to reflect what was written in the Text. If the Text was edited afterward, the Text layer name would also update accordingly. This feature was working up until recently, but now it’s not functioning at all.
