[FIXED] Jira widget - lost all designs links attached to tasks

Klaidas

Today we experienced a complete detachment of Figma links in Jira tasks. We believe it could be a culprit of Jira widget in Figma. Did anybody encountered the same thing?

We went to reuploading the links to Jira as Web links, hoping that it will hold better than Design links.

We are doing the same and adding them inside the description as well, just to be sure.

This week our team started using the Figma for Jira app. For a few days the plugin worked as intended and we were able to add various designs to our stories. However when I checked those stories today the design that were place there are gone.

The plugin is still active and I can add designs, however when I try to interact with the design or refresh/reopen the story, the design disappears. After checking with our Jira admin we discovered that the plugin keeps disconnecting itself from our Figma team after we give it permission.

As of now all the designs that were linked to a story are gone and the plugin doesn't stay connected long enough to add them back. I would love to know if there is a solution to this problem since the plugin was a great improvement to our workflow.

@Mohamed Abdelwahed - use Web links in Jira and/or add URL’s to Jira’s task description.

Hopefully, this will get fixed, cause for now we’re not planning to use Jira’s widget due to waste of time today we’ve encountered..

Thank you @Klaidas  Do u think they could relink the the tickets again? the missed ones

Yeah, something went south with the Widget, cause we had to reattach all links. I raised this problem already here in case you want to follow up.

To be fair with you I have my doubts, I don’t think is feasible from technical standpoint. I would recommend for you to reattach them manually for now and let’s hope this bug will get noticed and fixed for later widget use.

Erik Mathijs

We have the same problem with our instance.
I hope the data is not deleted in Jira and it will be solved by a new release of the Figma app.
If all design files are detached it should be a huge problem in our company

Mohamed Abdelwahed

@Erik Mathijs  Same same :(

Hey everyone, thank you for flagging this!
Our engineering team is aware of the issue and is actively investigating. We appreciate your patience in the meantime 🙏🏼

sam.chidambaram

Yes the same issue ; it has removed all the links and any new links also are not seen

Just adding a Me Too to this thread. All Figma links are gone and re-adding them looks like it works but then they disappear if you interact with them or refresh the page.

@Klaidas I’m curious whether all your relinked designs stuck?  Our experience is that as soon as you refresh a Jira ticket after you’ve added a design, the design disappears again.  Would be lame if you did all that work just to have to do it again whenever this problem is fixed permanently.

Hi there, we wanted to share an update that our team has escalated this further with Atlassian and they are continuing to work to get this resolved as soon as possible.

From the investigation so far, we want to clarify that no data loss has occurred for any Design links in existing tasks.
However, there is an ongoing loading issue in Jira preventing the Design panel and linked files from being displayed as expected. We will continue to share updates on any fixes as soon as they become available.

We appreciate your cooperation and patience!
