Figma Make - Unable to publish prototype update - "Something went wrong" error

Hello, I'm reporting a persistent bug in Figma.

Issue: Unable to publish prototype updates via the Preview tab. Error Message: 'Something went wrong, reload and try again' (in red). Start Time: Jan 27, 2026

Troubleshooting steps I've already taken:

  • Refreshed the page;

  • Switched browsers and used Incognito mode;

  • Restarted both the app and the computer;

  • Duplicated the file and attempted to publish (the error happens in the new file as well).

Please let me know if you need any logs.

    Hi there,

     

    Thanks for reporting the publishing error you’re seeing.

    A fix has been implemented for issues affecting the publishing of Figma Makes or Sites with code components. You can find more details and the timeline here: https://status.figma.com/

    Please fully refresh Figma and check if things are back to normal.

    Hey ​@Arno140 ​@Hans Christian -- I believe this is related to a bug our engineering team noticed yesterday, and are working on it now.

    I will update here as I learn more. Thank you for your patience.

      Hi everyone - an update for you:

      We believe this has been mitigated. Can you all please try refreshing your browsers or closing and restarting the Figma app to see if you still have trouble publishing your files?

      Please let me know if you still notice problems.

      Still get the same error. Closed Figma and restarted the app.

      Thanks ​@Hans Christian! I’m keeping an eye on this still -- there could be some potential regression, but I will continue to update here if that becomes the case.

      I still have the error once I try to publish the project. 😭 Please, help me to fix it.

        I still have the same problem. Could you investigate what is wrong. I cannot work anymore with Figma Make on my project. Thank you

            I still get the same errors as before, unfortunately.

            “Publish was unsuccessful - try again later and contact support” with “Update attempt was unsuccessful” in the Publish panel.

              I am still seeing the issue, refreshed my browser, i also upgraded to latest version of chrome.
