Figma Make - Unable to publish prototype update - "Something went wrong" error

Hello, I'm reporting a persistent bug in Figma.

Issue: Unable to publish prototype updates via the Preview tab. Error Message: 'Something went wrong, reload and try again' (in red). Start Time: Jan 27, 2026

Troubleshooting steps I've already taken:

  • Refreshed the page;

  • Switched browsers and used Incognito mode;

  • Restarted both the app and the computer;

  • Duplicated the file and attempted to publish (the error happens in the new file as well).

Please let me know if you need any logs.

I have a critical error here as I am not able to publish my last updates on my site. Figma Make returns  a message stating that it was not published and I need either to wait or to contact assistance. Made several attempts to publish during this last day but got the same error message every single time.

Dear Figma Support Team,

I am currently experiencing an issue with the Make integration in Figma. I am unable to update to the latest version through my Figma link/connection.

Could you please assist me in resolving this issue? I would appreciate it if you could investigate and provide guidance on how to properly update the Make integration.

I cannot publish my work anymore. It says “Publish was unsuccessful - try again later or contact support”. Is this related?

I have the same issue as well as Update attempt was unsuccessful. It worked fine until this morning.

Hi,
I’m experiencing the same issue with Figma Make. I have a full seat and have used the Publish feature before. I could not Publish anything new for the last 17 hours ago. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Hi, while I was working on Figma Make I have experienced several errors when trying to update the Figma Make prototype.  See the attached image for reference: “Update attempt was unsuccessful”

I would like to know when this feature will be working again. I have a full seat and it was working to me.

Hey ​@Arno140 ​@Hans Christian -- I believe this is related to a bug our engineering team noticed yesterday, and are working on it now.

Hi everyone - an update for you:

We believe this has been mitigated. Can you all please try refreshing your browsers or closing and restarting the Figma app to see if you still have trouble publishing your files?

Please let me know if you still notice problems.

I still have the error once I try to publish the project. 😭 Please, help me to fix it.

I still get the same errors as before, unfortunately.

“Publish was unsuccessful - try again later and contact support” with “Update attempt was unsuccessful” in the Publish panel.
