Yesterday, my Figma desktop app prompted me to update to a new version. After I clicked OK and ran the update, I created a Make project. As of today, it has been 2 days and the project preview is still completely blank. I tried creating a new project. I also tried opening it in the desktop app, in the web browser, force refreshing, etc. Nothing seems to have worked.

I just went and opened two Make project files I created last month, and they also show a blank screen in preview. I think this is something that requires your assistance and support—could this be caused by an issue with the recent release?

I checked the Figma forum and found an identical issue reported 4 months ago. Based on the information available for self-checking, I confirm that I am the only person using my account and I have full edit permissions for this project.

Please respond, I'm waiting to submit my assignment.

Hi everyone, Celine from Figma here!

We wanted to share an update that may help explain why some of you are seeing issues with Figma Make previews not loading.

We’ve noticed there are ongoing Zscaler service disruptions since yesterday, which may impact customers using this software. If you’re on a network with Zscaler, this could be contributing to the issue. You can find more details here: https://trust.zscaler.com/zscaler.net/incidents

If you’re using Zscaler, please try temporarily disabling it and check whether the preview loads afterward. If disabling Zscaler isn’t possible or doesn’t resolve the issue, we recommend reaching out directly to Zscaler support for help resolving the network-level blocking.

More generally, preview issues in Figma Make are often caused by network restrictions blocking required domains. As a next step, please confirm that the following domains are accessible (or whitelisted). You may need to work with your IT team to do this:

  • *.figma.com
  • *.figma.site
  • *-figmaaipreview.site
  • *awswaf.com
  • esm.sh
  • jsdelivr.net

In addition, some other steps that have helped with issues of Previews not loading correctly:

  • Open the file in a different browser

  • Switch to full-screen preview to see if it loads

  • Click the Refresh preview button inside Make

  • Create a copy of the file and check whether the preview loads there

Thanks everyone for flagging this and for your patience while our team is investigating it!

Previously used Figma Make to generate a prototype, which worked fine. Today, when trying to view it for work, the preview appears completely blank. I upgraded from Free to Professional thinking it was an account limitation, but the issue persists. Please help.

Hey Joy — thanks for flagging this, and I’m sorry you’re seeing blank preview of your Make files after you updated your Figma desktop app to the latest version.

We’d like to take a closer look at what’s happening. I’ve sent you an email with next steps on how to loop in our Technical Quality team so they can review the specific file where this is occurring. Please check your inbox tied to your Figma account for the message tied to case number: 1651504.

In the meantime, if you’re seeing any specific error messages or unexpected behavior, feel free to share those details by replying the email that I sent out earlier — our team can be helpful context as we investigate. For more information on Figma Make error messages and what they mean, have a look at this resource: Troubleshoot in Figma Make.

Thanks for working with us on this. We’ll follow along and help get this sorted out.

The team has noted that there are some ongoing Zscaler service disruptions that could be causing this. Can you please confirm if you are using this software?

If so, can you try temporarily disabling this and check if the preview then loads?

Hi, I am encountering an issue with Figma make, hoping tech team or support team might have some information or can point me to the right contact.

Starting Monday, 12/22, I have been unable to view any of my previous Figma files (all of them) or see actual content after creating new ones. When I click on the links, the page only shows a blank view (as following)

Here is what I have tried so far, but none of them are working::

  • Restarted my laptop/Figma site

  • Connected through different VPNs or no VPN

  • Tested on multiple browsers (Edge/Chrome) and cleared browser data

  • Asked colleagues to check the links (only 1 out of 5 could view the content; others see the same blank view even with the same link)

Could you please share any helpful information or direct me to someone who can resolve this? Thank you so much.

Thank you so much for your help!

Yes, it works after disabling zscaler, but i don’t think my org will allow that for long. Do we have a solution in sight ?

Here are a few common reasons why Figma Make preview doesn’t show anything, and how to fix them:

1. Preview panel is collapsed or hidden

  • Make sure the Preview panel is open.

  • Try dragging the divider or resetting the layout.

2. Nothing is selected

  • Figma Make only previews what is selected.

  • Select a frame, component, or layer that contains content.

3. Empty or unsupported content

  • If the selected frame has no visible layers, the preview will be blank.

  • Some elements (very large canvases, hidden layers, or unsupported objects) may not render.

4. Zoom or position issue

  • The preview might be zoomed out too far.

  • Use Fit to screen or reset zoom in the preview.

5. Browser or app issue

  • Refresh Figma.

  • Clear browser cache or try another browser.

  • If using the desktop app, restart it.

6. Permissions or file state

  • Make sure you have edit access to the file.

  • Check that the file is fully loaded and not in a read-only or error state.

7. Figma Make is still in beta

  • Preview bugs can happen.

  • Try duplicating the file and previewing again.

If it still doesn’t work, please tell me:

  • Are you using Figma web or desktop?

  • What exactly are you trying to preview (frame, component, prototype, Make flow)?

I’m experiencing the same issues, completely logged out my zscaler and still nothing. Thankfully Figma make isn’t monetised yet because I (would have) spent almost a thousand credits trying to troubleshoot this with the internal chat interface in Make. Tried everything the pthers have, hard reset, different browsers, no vpns, no luck. When will this be resolved?

Also experiencing the same problem with my Figma Make preview, it’s completely blank on my end. We also use zScaler at work and it is required to be on. I have tried restarting my machine, clearing my cache and duplicating the files, but still -- no luck. Looking forward to a resolution soon. Thank you!

Hi, I’m having the same problem on Mac. Tried the troubleshooting steps you outlined above on both browser and desktop app, including reset + restart, clearing cache from terminal, and logout/in. The browser is not showing any errors and is up to date.

Hey @John50 — thanks for reaching out and for the details you shared. I understand the issue you’re running into and I’m sorry to hear about the trouble.

I’m merging your post into an ongoing thread tracking similar reports so we can keep everything in one place. When you have a chance, could you try the steps @Celine_ outlined above and let us know if that helps restore the preview?

We’ll update here as soon as we have more information as well.

Hi! I’m also experiencing this blank preview issue. I don’t use Zscaler or any kind of VPN on this machine. I started with a design that was working great, but I asked Make to convert the app to Vue.js for me, which did not work. It said everything went fine, but the preview stopped loading. Now even after reverting back to a previously functioning version, there is still no preview. The published link still works, but it’s a few versions back (I’m afraid to publish now as I don’t want to lose my work or get into an unrecoverable state). I have also copied the Make to see if that would work, but the copied version doesn’t work either.

Can someone help me? I’d love it if someone could take a look at the files themselves. I suspect the Make itself just isn’t being loaded or initialized properly. My switch to Vue, and then back to React feels like the likely culprit.

Hi @Matt Garkusha - I’m aligned and think that you have a separate issue. I don’t have any theories or idea of what exactly, but I do also agree that someone on our technical quality team should take a look.

I saw you filed a support ticket already (#1663047), and can confirm it has been assigned to the team. They will get back to you as soon as possible.

It would be really helpful if you can share the file - thank you for offering that up to us as an option 🙏🏻 Please do the following:

  • Share edit access to all the relevant files with support-share@figma.com. This is our official Figma support account, and only select support and engineering members will be able to access them to try and replicate any problems. You will also not be charged for this.

^^ You may have already done this, but just wanted to throw in just in case.

That’s all you’ll need to do for now. As a side note: we’re having a higher volume of tickets because of the holiday, so it may take longer than usual to get a reply. Someone will be in touch as soon as we can.

Appreciate your patience and willingness to help!
