Issue Summary:
Figma Make has been completely broken in one specific file for 48+ hours. Every prompt returns "Something went wrong" error. The issue is NOT related to AI credit limits - I have 3,000 credits available.

File Details:

  • File: Design System for Academy (Copy)

  • Current version: Version 5

  • Account type: Paid plan with full seat

Error Details:

  • Error message: "Something went wrong. Try again"

  • Request IDs:

    • a216f838-6ece-460d-8f17-95963978a108

    • c7b07ae6-1ce5-4ec4-84f0-8217037ff1b1

  • Duration: 48+ hours

  • AI Credits available: 3,000 (clearly visible in UI)

What I've Already Tried:

  • Refreshing the page multiple times

  • Waiting between attempts (1-2 minutes, up to several hours)

  • Different types of prompts (simple and complex)

  • Checking internet connection and VPN

  • Restoring previous versions (tried Version 4)

Important Discovery:
Make works perfectly in:

  • FREE accounts (same prompts, same network)

  • NEW Make files in my paid account

This suggests the issue is file-specific corruption, not account or network related.

Suspected Cause:
The file has gone through multiple iterations (Version 5) with intensive prompting. This may have caused file corruption or history issues similar to cases reported here: forum.figma.com/report-a-problem-6/figma-make-persistent-error-43700

Request:
Could the Figma team please investigate this file-specific issue? I'm happy to provide support-share@figma.com with "can edit" access if needed.

Has anyone else experienced persistent Make errors in specific files that resolved after 24-48 hours or by creating a fresh copy?

Thank you!

Hey @sohrcjat — thanks for joining Figma Forum, and for laying out the issue and the steps you’ve already taken. You’re right, while this error can happen occasionally, you shouldn’t be seeing the persistent “Something went wrong” message. More details here: Troubleshoot in Figma Make → Error messages.

The best next step is to have our Technical Quality team take a closer look at your file to pinpoint the cause. I’ve opened a ticket on your behalf, so please check your inbox for an email from me with instructions on sharing file access.
