Figma cursor is dramatically bigger

Hi, the figma cursor used to be small and neat. In the past few days it has suddenly grown much bigger and it glitches in the middle of work switching back to the original smaller size, and growing again when moved or used for an action. Any idea why this is happening?

Hey everyone, thanks so much for flagging this!

We’ve seen several reports of this happening in Firefox, and the team has now rolled out a fix. Refreshing your tab should apply it, and your cursor + mouse interactions should return to normal.

If you’re still seeing this after a refresh or if you’re running into it on a different browser, let me know your browser and version and I’ll take a closer look with you.

Hi @Aditi Bagal, sorry for the delayed reply, and thanks for chiming in here, @Edward Zwetzig !

This primarily occurs when you’re running other software in the background while trying to use Figma.

Are either of you running any other software when this occurs? If so, can you close all other software running in the background and let us know if that helps?

If not, please let us know, so we can continue to troubleshoot together.

Chiming in with my inputs 👋

The pointer looks huge when it’s in the canvas, but the size is normal when hovering on the left and right side bar, where the system pointer is shown instead of the custom one that Figma shows in canvas.

In the canvas ->

What I’ve also noticed is that in the same machine, the cursor looks normally sized when opening Figma in Chrome i.e. browser.

I have the issue in several different browsers on android tablet.

Double-checked for any new or updated software, nothing has changed since the day before yesterday, when the cursor has been normal size.

Same here. There has been no change w.r.t system or Figma, but still the cursor looks humongous.

I have the same problem, I tried opening Figma in different browsers, but the problem remains. I really want the problem fixed. It is very inconvenient to work with such a cursor(

Hey both, thanks for calling this out!

Could you share which Firefox version you’re using, along with your Linux OS version? That’ll help us report this properly to the team and investigate what might have changed.

In the meantime, as a workaround, you could try using Chrome or Edge, or switch to the Figma Desktop app while this gets looked into.

Hey everyone, I see you’re all hitting this with the same setup!

I’ve passed these details along to the team so they can investigate what’s going on here.

Really appreciate your patience while we dig into this. I’ll share an update here as soon as I hear back!

Martin Lindelof

Issue is persistent on android tablets. It is due to Figma using a custom cursor, other applications that keeps the system cursor works just fine.

Checked all settings, page zoom default. Desktop web page mode. Accessibility settings disabled. Everything checked,

A perfect solution would be if Figma had a settings to use system cursor and not custom ones. It could be on by default, and us that works on tablets could opt out and keep the system cursor and miss out on some of the features custom cursor come with.

Christel_Agier

Hi,
Issue is still active on ubuntu 22 and firefox 150.

Large cursor issue on Huawei MatePad using mouse. Interface scale doesn't help. Started recently.

Quick update: I’ve shared this with the team internally and they’re now aware and actively looking into it. I’ll keep an eye on this thread and share updates as soon as I have them.

Really appreciate your patience while this is being investigated. In the meantime, you please try using Chrome or Edge, or switch to the Figma Desktop app.
