Figma Buzz Bulk Create — CSV field mappings overwrite each other on imported text layers

Hello Figma Support Team,

We are experiencing an issue with CSV field mapping in Figma Buzz Bulk Create.

We are building a template-based workflow to generate weekly event cards for a local community media project. The templates were originally created in Figma Design and copied into Figma Buzz.

Environment

  • Product: Figma Buzz, Free/Starter plan

  • Platform: macOS, web browser

  • Source: Figma Design component copied into Buzz

  • File: SVOI · Афиша · MVP

  • Template: E02 / Graphic Event / Master

  • Data format: CSV with three rows

Issue

When connecting CSV fields to individual text layers, assigning a field to a second text layer appears to overwrite the mapping previously assigned to the first layer.

For example, the template contains two separate text objects:

  • 25 — the event day

  • ОКТ — the event month

The CSV contains independent columns named day and month.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open the Figma Buzz file and select the imported template.

  2. Open Bulk Create and upload the CSV.

  3. Enter the Connect data interface.

  4. Select the text object containing 25.

  5. Click the day column in the sidebar to connect it.

  6. Select the separate text object containing ОКТ.

  7. Click the month column to connect it.

  8. Return to the 25 text object and inspect its mapping.

Actual behavior

The text object containing 25 now appears to be connected to month, rather than retaining its previous day mapping.

We experienced similar problems when trying to map other fields. We were able to generate three assets successfully when only the title field was connected, but the remaining text fields stayed unchanged.

Expected behavior

Each independent text layer should retain its own CSV mapping:

  • Event title → title

  • Category → category

  • Day (25) → day

  • Month (ОКТ) → month

  • Time → time

  • Venue → venue

  • Price → price

Connecting a new text layer should not modify an existing mapping on another text layer.

Additional context

The template was created as a main component in Figma Design and copied into Figma Buzz. We can select individual text layers in Buzz, and the CSV columns are recognized correctly.

We also found a related Figma Forum discussion where a user reported that using a component instance instead of a main component resolved a different Bulk Create mapping issue:

https://forum.figma.com/ask-the-community-7/figma-buzz-bulk-create-not-creating-correctly-41685

Could you please clarify:

  1. Is this a known issue with text layers imported from Figma Design?

  2. Does Bulk Create support main components, or should we use instances or ordinary frames?

  3. Is there a recommended workflow for preserving independent CSV mappings across multiple text layers?

  4. Is there any known workaround or fix?

Our goal is to generate batches of approximately 6–10 event cards each week. Reliable, independent field mappings are essential for this workflow.

We can provide screenshots, the CSV file, and a screen recording demonstrating the issue.

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,
