Hey @Usama Mahmood, thanks for sharing these details.

Could you help me with a bit more context so I can narrow this down?

  • What exactly were you doing right before the error appeared?
  • How many prompts were you trying to submit?
  • What kind of prompts were they? Were they short, long, or packed with lots of information?

Thank you for your help!

I got this error every time when i write any prompt. Even if i use any community file and try to edit it, the same server error comes.
I tried to use my another account and it works fine (i mean the figma make works perfect on other account)

Hey @Usama Mahmood, thank you for sharing those details.

Could you try duplicating the affected file to see if that resolves the issue? If the error still persists after duplicating, I’d be more than happy to connect you with our Support team so they can take a closer look.

Let me know how that goes, thank you!

Sorry i don’t understand what do you mean by duplicating the file. The issue came on every file, whether it is from community or i create it..

I'm having the exact same error. Please help. This field appears in all files I've been added to. I was added to a Figma Make file, and I can easily access it, but everything I send to chat displays this error. I even tried saving a local copy and re-uploading the project, but it still displays this message. I'm not the only designer facing this issue; some of my friends have the same issue. File: Website figma make
It seems only the file owner can send commands to chat. Please help!

Hey @Usama Mahmood, when I mentioned duplicating the file, here’s what I meant:

  1. Click on an empty area of the canvas (or press Esc to deselect everything).

  2. Click the file name in the top bar to open the file menu.

  3. Select Duplicate.

Figma will create a new copy of the file based on your access level and the original file’s location.

Check out our Help Center article for more info here: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038511533-Duplicate-or-copy-files#file-browser

Please give that a try and let me know what happens. If the error still appears, I’ll help get this escalated so our team can investigate further.

Thanks for jumping in @Андрей Палий

To help narrow this down, could you share a bit more:

  • What were you doing right before the error appeared?

  • Roughly how many prompts were you submitting?

  • Were the prompts short and simple, or longer/more detailed?

  • Does duplicating the file change anything?

If you're comfortable sharing the file link via DM, I can also connect you with our support team so they can take a closer look at what’s happening behind the scenes.

@Gayani_S We all keep telling you over and over again and yet all you do is come back with more stupid questions! I’ll answer for everyone on these threads about this issue.

We need you guys to fix it.

That’s all. Asking these unordered list questions when you have dozens if not hundreds of support tix submitted and still no resolution to the problem, is useless. I can tell you the answers to the above unordered list of questions, for me: First bullet = Nothing. Second bullet = No, it doesn’t matter, because it happens for e v e r y t h i n g. Third bullet = One. Fourth Bullet = Yes.

Please do something.

Your subscribers pay you a LOT of money for this tool and you guys hype it so much but then it breaks and you not only don’t fix it, you make us do YOUR job for you when you should have internal troubleshooting teams who can see this after ONE support ticket and get it resolved. If you can’t, then at the very least do us all the courtesy of providing some kind of update or response with a timeline for when you expect to have your broken app fixed. Thanks from all of us here.

Hey @Ria Scureman, I’ve left a more detailed response this post:

But I want to reiterate here that unfortunately this issue doesn’t have a single root cause. The “Couldn’t reach server” error can be triggered by a variety of factors. Some on our side and in some cases may also be caused by issues on the customer’s side. Which means there isn’t one universal fix we can apply to resolve every instance at once.

As an immediate step, the team recommends switching the AI model used by Make to see whether the issue persists across models.

If it continues happening on multiple models, we’ll need to investigate your specific setup more closely. You can reach Support directly via the chatbot here: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

@Usama Mahmood I’ve submitted a support ticket on your behalf so our team can investigate this further. Your support ticket number is #1792297, for reference. Someone from the team should be in touch with you soon to investigate this.

@Gayani_S It randomly started working again - at least as of yesterday it did. Hopefully it keeps working.

Hey @Usama Mahmood, I’m sorry this has taken longer than expected. It looks like the team hasn’t been able to review your support ticket ( #1792297) yet due to a backlog.

I’ve escalated this internally to help move things along, and someone from the team should be in touch with you as soon as possible. I really appreciate your patience while we get this sorted.

Hey @Usama Mahmood, I’m really sorry this has taken longer than expected.

I’ve checked on your case (#1792297), and it looks like the issue has now been resolved. What happened here is that your account had been temporarily restricted due to activity that triggered our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines safeguards. The restriction has now been lifted, so you should have normal access again.

If you’re still running into any issues or something doesn’t look right on your end, please let me know!

Hey @Trifon

To help me narrow this down and get you to the right team faster, could you share a bit more detail?

  • What were you doing right before the error showed up?
  • Have you noticed any patterns (e.g. specific prompts or actions that trigger it)?
  • Roughly how many prompts were you running at the time?
  • Were the prompts short, long, or more detailed?

In the meantime, a couple of quick things that might help:

  • Try duplicating the Make file and running it again
  • Try switching the AI model used in Make

Thank you for your help!
