So the issue is that after the last figma software update that i did i have been noticing that my copy and paste hasn't really been functional and at the same time it is frustrating, i have to press ctrl + c several times before it copies and also press several times to paste as well, and also the copy feature would not even work for components, auto layout assets, and grouped item as well and this is crazily frustrating please, i have to manually move and duplicate assets by holding down alt key and dragging the component to duplicate now and having to get the position on the other frame becomes a thing, please get this fixed as soon as possible and note that this actually started with the last update i did, I have never experienced it prior to the update

      Hey ​@CYPHIXRUDER — welcome to Figma Forum, and thanks for flagging this. I definitely get how having to alt-drag to duplicate and then reposition everything would impact your workflow, especially when copy and paste worked fine before.

      One quick thing to rule out first: Earlier this week, our Engineering team shipped a fix for a separate copy and paste issue — specific to copying prototype interactions. I realize that isn't exactly what you're describing, but the fix can only take effect once a file has been closed and reopened. If there's a chance your file has been open since Wednesday or earlier, would you close it fully, reopen it, and try again? Fast to check, and worth ruling out.

      Two other things worth trying to help us narrow this down:

      • Test in a brand-new file. Draw a plain rectangle in a fresh file and copy and paste it. If that's reliable, the problem may be tied to what you're copying. If it's inconsistent there too, that's helpful to know.
      • Try the menu path. Right-click the layer and choose Copy instead of using the shortcut. If the menu is reliable where the shortcut isn't, that points us in the right direction.

      If none of that gets you unblocked, could you reply with:

      1. Are you in the Figma Desktop App or a browser? And if you can try the other, does it behave differently?
      2. What app version and operating system are you using?
      3. Are you copying within one file, or between two files?
      4. When a copy fails, do you see any error message or does nothing happen at all?
      5. Does it happen with every component and group, or only some?

      Please post back with whatever you find. If a specific step changes the outcome, that'll help everyone else who lands on this thread.
