CMS content not loading when clicking through from CMS list

I’ve created a simple CMS collection and added a CMS list to my site’s homepage. When clicking into either of the CMS items (labeled case studies), the page loads but none of the CMS content. I have to manually refresh the page and only then content loads. When I inspect the page, the content is there, it’s just not being displayed.

Furthermore when a user is on a CMS item page, and attempts to click the logo in the nav bar to access the homepage, the CMS list that loads only displays a single item listing (which doesn't retain styling , nor imagery). Can someone help figure out how to resolve?

I create a sample test site with CMS pages around three weeks ago and it was working well.

Today I have created another site with CMS pages and noticed same issue @leelee_design  faces.

Then, I test again my test site that I created three weeks ago and it has the same issue.

So, it seems some issue with Figma Sites itself.

I’m looking for the solution as well.

Can someone help @Figma_Support?

Hi @leelee_design, @Atulkumar Dabhi — Celyn here from Figma Community Support.

Thanks for flagging this, and I’m sorry to hear you’re running into issues with your CMS pages.

We’d like to take a closer look to better understand what’s happening on the backend. I’ve created a support ticket on your behalf so our Technical Quality team can investigate further and assist you directly.

Please check the inbox associated with your Figma account and reply directly to that email with the following:

  • A screen recording showing the behavior end-to-end, with the full Figma window visible

Additionally, please share the impacted file with support-share@figma.com and grant “Can View” access. This will not impact your billing and will allow us to reproduce the issue and investigate further with Engineering.

Thanks!

I have sent  screen recording from my work email via WeTransfer and gave “Can View” access to support-share@figma.com.

Please let me know if yo need anything else.

Thanks.

Hi, @Celyn_L ,

Email delivery has been failed to support-share@figma.com

“We're writing to let you know that the group you tried to contact (support-share) may not exist, or you may not have permission to post messages to the group.”

Could you please confirm whether you have received email form “Figma Community Forum <notifications@email.forum.figma.com>” or not and support-share@figma.com got “Can View” access?

If not, cold you please share an email to send over the screen recording file?

Thanks.

Hi @Atulkumar Dabhi, sorry to hear there’s been some confusion.

You should have received a support ticket (#1742982) sent to the email address linked to your Figma account. I’ve just resent it—could you please check your inbox and let me know if you’ve received it?

Kindly reply directly to that email (not to support-share@figma.com) with your screen recording attached.

Please also share your impacted file with support-share@figma.com and grant “Can View” access. This will allow us to reproduce the issue and investigate further with the Engineering team.

Hope this helps clarify things, and please let me know if you have any questions!

Atulkumar Dabhi

Hi @Celyn_L , I have replies to the email (#1742982). Could you please confirm receipt and be able to download screen recording video file?

We have the same issue on multiple pages with collections, this looks like a Figma problem.
We also setup a blog site from figma template, and just published it as is - still doesnt work.

@Celyn_L  and @Figma_Support can you look into this please?

This is a more detailed response:

I’m experiencing a recurring issue with Figma Sites CMS pages (blog) where CMS content does not render on first navigation.

Summary

  • When navigating from /blog-list to a /blog-detail page (and also when navigating back / between posts), the page loads but the CMS-bound content does not populate (article body + author fields). The layout and some non-CMS elements load, but the CMS fields remain empty until a manual browser refresh (Cmd/Ctrl+R).

  • After a manual refresh, the same /blog-detail URL renders correctly.

Affected URL (example)

https://www.tarifnik.si/blog-detail/elektrika-vt-mt-kdaj-je-elektrika-cenejsa-in-kaj-pomeni-nizja-tarifa

Repro steps

  1. Open https://www.tarifnik.si/blog-list

  2. Click any blog post to open /blog-detail/…

  3. Observe that article content and author data are missing

  4. Refresh the page

  5. Observe that the content and author data render correctly

  6. Click back to /blog-list and repeat (also reproduces when switching between posts)

Expected

  • CMS content should render reliably on first navigation between CMS list and CMS item pages.

Actual

  • CMS content frequently fails to render until manual refresh.

Console / errors observed

  • “Materialization error … item with id … not found in CMS Collection …” (intermittent)

  • Occasionally also see blocked requests like:

    POST https://www.figma.com/api/figment-proxy/monitor net::ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT

    TypeError: Failed to fetch

(If you need full console logs, I can provide them.)

Environment

  • Site: tarifnik.si (Figma Sites)

  • Routes: /blog-list and /blog-detail/…

  • Happens across repeated navigations; most noticeable on first load after landing on blog list.

This appears similar to the issue discussed on the Figma community forum:

“CMS content not loading when clicking through from CMS list”

https://forum.figma.com/report-a-problem-6/cms-content-not-loading-when-clicking-through-from-cms-list-50823

Can you confirm whether this is a known bug/regression in Sites CMS routing/hydration and advise on a supported workaround or timeline for a fix?

Valentina Junca

I’ve been experiencing the same issue since yesterday. When I try to navigate to any of the CMS items, the page loads, but none of the CMS content appears. The content only loads after I manually refresh the page.

Do you know what might be causing this issue? Is there an estimated timeline for when it will be resolved?

Mihajlo Kovačević

I have the same problem. Are there any updates on resolving this issue?

Example website: https://sleeve-washi-79658529.figma.site/article/how-to-build-a-climate-ready-data-stack

I tried to use a Figma Site CMS template, and there are some problems about URLs and CMS data.

In this template at “article” page, I tried to link to other articles at the “Recent articles” section.

I found that in published mode, when linking to other article, the URL would change, but the content didn’t change with the URL.

And I have checked those data have already connected to CMS data.

published mode
CMS data connected

But at Figma design mode, when change the URL from the drop-down menu, the data will change.

design mode

Is this a bug or there are something I am missing?

Hello, same here, still experiencing the issue.

Mihajlo Kovačević

Now I have the same issue again!

The same issue occurred 20 days ago, it was resolved, but now it has happened again.

Christophe Bouvier

So I’m making a website for a company and we went with Figma sites because the CMS capabilities were added.

Now I got everything working on my end → Made cms collections → made detail pages that are linked to the fields in these collections + I made a list that also fill from the cms.

Everything looks ok in Figma sites design view, I can switch to the different collections detail pages and get a preview. Everything looks filled in and the slugs look good.

Now when I run the site within figma sites as preview or even if I publish the site. Then only the first item I choose from a collection list will load the correct page content. After that if I change to another cms page from the same cms list, I only see the same content which is wrong. What’s weird is that the slug is ok and I get the right content when I reload manually.

(Hard reset, clear cache and figma relaunch / reload have no effect → the problem just picks up again after that refresh)
(Also removing the collections and rebinding everything gives me the same results)

This is not very end user friendly. Any solution for this or fixes?

Kind regards

Christophe Bouvier

I’m encountering the same problem. I described the issue here:
