Cannot publish plugin update: "We detected a change to your account details. Please contact support@figma.com to proceed"

Hi,

Details as requested. This is a Community publishing restriction on my account, not a file issue.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Figma desktop app, signed in as [redacted by moderator to remove personal information]

  2. Figma menu > Plugins > Manage plugins (Resources > Plugins tab)

  3. Select GitFig (Community plugin ID [redacted by moderator to remove personal information]) > Next, or the "..." menu > Publish new version

  4. The publish form opens; the footer shows in red: "We detected a change to your account details. Please contact support@figma.com to proceed"

  5. The Publish/Next action cannot be completed while that message is present

Device: Windows 11 Home, Figma desktop app version app-126.8.16. Same result on repeated attempts since August 25, 2026.

Screenshot of the publish form footer attached. No console errors are involved; the message is shown by the publish form itself. No specific file is affected; the block is on publishing an update to my existing free Community plugin.

Context: the only recent account change was completing Community seller onboarding and activating the Stripe payout account on August 25, 2026. I have a free update of GitFig ready to publish. Please route this to Platform Support to review and lift the restriction; I can verify any account details needed. Related open ticket with Platform Support: #2089587.

Thanks,

Dan

That’s great, @SchmitzLabs - thanks for doing that.

To echo what @Tom Reem and @Celyn_L have said and to give a bit more context for anyone else that sees this message, this situation can automatically trigger when certain account details change, for any plugin publisher. Because of that, it requires verification by our Platform Support team via email. The fastest way to get help with that is to submit a request here: help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new (or use the Contact support option via the ? icon in Figma). Once the team verifies your info, the restriction is lifted and you're clear to publish again.

Let us know your ticket number here if it's been a few days without a reply and we're happy to check on it.

@Celine_ ? Are you the right person for this? Saw you replied to a similar post by another community member.

This just happened to me as well. I was trying to publish a plug internally to my Org.  Required me to enable 2FA.  So I went through the process of doing that.  Now I am getting this error because my details changed...

Hi @PeterR, thanks for chiming in here!

As mentioned above, this is expected when your account details change for any plugin publisher. You will need to verify your account with our Platform Support team via email. Again, the fastest way to do this is to submit a request here: help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new (or use the Contact support option via the ? icon in Figma). Once our team verifies your account, you’ll be able to publish again without issue.

It doesn’t look like you’ve created a ticket yet, so please do so. Feel free to follow up here with your ticket number, if verification takes longer than expected.

Regarding this topic @adamsmasher , we´ve submitted the following ticket

help.figma.com/hc/requests/212410

This is an active plugin (PROD environment) and we can´t update it, Can you or any of your colleagues support us??

Thanks in advanced & KR,

Hi @Diana Marco Cuenca, welcome to Figma Forum — Tom here, stepping in for @adamsmasher today. I looked into this and couldn't find a ticket matching the link you shared, or one tied to your account — but we’ll make sure this gets sorted out.

Can you double-check your ticket ID and confirm that's the full number? Or, if it's easier, open a fresh case through this secure link to our Support Hub. Either way, once I have the right number I can track it down and confirm it’s in front of the Platform Support team. 🙏🏻

Hi @Tom Reem thanks for your reply. The case number is ok:

I can´t open a new fresh ticket since it redirects me again to the Forum…. Can you please support us?? The issue that we´re finding is that apparently we need to verufy something at the account but we don´t find out what exactly (no billing, not general info...) and that´s stopping us from updating the plugin.
