Cannot paste some items in some items components, some can...

Hey ​@Remy_B — welcome to Figma Forum, and thanks so much for taking the time to share a recording of what’s happening. That really helps.

I tried to reproduce the issue on my end but wasn’t able to see the same behavior yet. From your video, I wonder if the pasted components might be appearing behind another layer. Before pasting, can you try selecting the layer you’d like them to appear above? Or, after pasting, see if moving them upward in the right-hand Layers panel makes them visible.

A few quick clarifiers that could help narrow this down:

• Does this happen in every file, or just certain ones?
• Are you using Figma in the browser, desktop app, or both?
• If you’re using the Figma Desktop App, can you confirm you’re on version 125.8.9 or later?

If things still aren’t working as expected after giving those a check, it’d be great for our Product Support team to take a closer look at this specific file. When you have a moment, please reach out to them directly and include:

• It does seem to happen in every file yes, this is for example a newly created file, the weird thing is that is happens on some component sets, but not the other one. As you can see in the video I use 2 component sets, the one works, the other one does not. I have created both at the same day.
• I am using the Figma desktop app on Windows
• I am running version 125.9.10

The problem is that the frame is not pasted inside of the component. I can manually move the frame to it, that adds it to the component, but pasting always pastes it randomly around the component, but not in it. But it gets pasted correctly in the other component.

Also, a weird thing, I just tried to resize the frame of the frame with the red circle in it, and it did allow me to paste in it. Which is very weird.
Maybe the internal state has a bug in it? Some leftover variable that it was a component or something?

I think I found it, but it is a Figma bug and not a user issue! think the problem only occurs when the size of the frame I am trying to copy paste is exactly the same size as the component inside of the component set.

When I try it inside of a component not in a set, it does work. It seems to be a very specific situation bug.

What does nothing:

• Adding other elements to the frame or removing parts of it
• Giving the frame a background

What does work:

• Resizing the frame, it instantly works.
• Converting the frame to a group, BUT this is only when the component size is not the full width / height of the frame it is in. When I add a rectangle the size of the frame in the frame. And then group it it does NOT work. But when I add thet rectangle and make it a bit smaller, then convert the frame to a group it DOES work.
• Moving the component from a component set to a normal component.
