Problem description:

Hi Figma team,
Since the last update, I can no longer see the distance between elements when I select one and hold down the Option key (on Mac) while hovering over another. I’ve tried everything suggested:

  • Using Option or Alt + hover over another element.
  • Switching from Draw to Design mode in the bottom right of the interface.
  • Restarting Figma, opening new files, updating the app, clearing the cache, trying the web version, and even disabling plugins.

Nothing has worked and the problem persists, even though I used to see the measurements with no problem before.

I would really appreciate some help, since this tool is essential in my workflow and it’s causing me a lot of issues.

Thank you!

I’m so glad I’m not alone here. I’ve tried EVERYTHING. My ChatGPT was burning while trying to help me to fix it. 😂

I thought that I got amnesia how to see distance between elements.

Seems not, I have so many friends here

Same issueee, what happen ?

Same issue. Tried on 3 accounts, 2 machines. I’ve tried freaking everything and I need to design my wedding dinner menu tonight.

I think it’s the right time to short NYSE: FIG 😂

Same issue just happened to me.

So, here’s my workaround: I’m using squares to measure distances now 😂

For a company this big, why are they not doing proper QA before releasing to prod?

Same issue as well! Hope this gets fixed soon

Happened to me too..

Hey, same problem here. Already re-installed the app, used the reset and restart but it just won’t work. The browser version is with the same problem tho. Might be a bug because it was working flawlessly about 2 hours ago.

The same thing is happening to me too, and it just started a little while ago.

+1 The same thing

I have already performed the following troubleshooting steps without success:

  • Restarted my computer.

  • Reinstalled the Figma desktop app.

  • Tested this in both existing and brand new files (the issue occurs everywhere).

  • Tested in the browser version of Figma, and the issue persists there as well.

None of these steps have resolved the problem.

same issue here, this is very very frustrating and unacceptable

@djv please find a solution ASAP

Workaround:

  • Set your zoom to 390%
  • Use calipers
