Bug Report: Detach instance

Hello lovely Figma team,

Recently I’ve noticed that my icon components are getting messed up, and they only display correctly when I detach them. In the video below, you can see that the design system is implemented properly, so this issue seems to be a bug.

Hi @Javad_Saberi ,

Thanks for the video — it helps a lot. From what I can see, you’re experiencing an issue where the nested instances aren’t positioned or sized as expected until you detach them.

Here’s what I observed from your recording:

  • You’re seeing the issue in the file “CRM.”

  • In the “Add New” instance, the nested instance “other/plus” seems to be misaligned or mis-sized.

  • In the “Table cell” instance, the nested instances “other/copy-outline” and “other/search-visual” also appear to be misaligned or mis-sized.

  • These nested instances come from the “Design System” library file.

To investigate further, we’ll need to inspect the instance structures and related configurations in both files. I’ll go ahead and create a support request(#1552209) on your behalf using the details you’ve shared.

When you receive the support request confirmation email (it will be sent to the email address associated with your Figma account), please reply to that email with the following information:

  • The URL of the “CRM” file where you see this issue

  • The URL of the “Design System” library

  • Edit access granted to support-share@figma.com for both files (granting access won’t affect your billing)

I really appreciate your help with this — this access will allow our team to reproduce the problem and investigate more effectively.

Thanks,

Hello,

Yes, of course. How long will it take for the ticket confirmation email to be sent to me?

Can I message support-share@figma.com right now, or should I wait until I receive the email from your side?

Thank you.

Hi @Javad_Saberi

Thanks for the follow-up. I believe the ticket confirmation email has already been sent, but if you’re comfortable with it, please feel free to PM me the file URLs, and I’ll share them with the specialist handling your ticket.

Thanks,

Should I send it to this email?

Hi,

Our support specialist Nancy has already emailed you requesting the URL of the file in your support ticket.
Could you please check the inbox of the email address linked to your Figma account and reply to her with the file URL?

You can grant edit access to support-share@figma.com from the Share modal of each file. Here’s the instruction for reference: Share settings and permissions

If you’d prefer to share the URL with me directly, click the icon next to my message — you’ll see an email icon, and from there, you can send me a PM.

@Junko3  I added the access in Figma and sent an email to this address to have them check it, but I received this reply in response.

Could you please check your inbox?

I can confirm that our support specialist has already sent a ticket email to the email address associated with your Figma account.

When you find the email, please reply to it with the URLs of the two files. You can copy each file’s link by clicking “Copy link” in the share modal.

Thank you for your help!

@Junko3

Hello, have the colleagues reached a conclusion?

Hi, I checked your support ticket (#1552209) and saw that our support specialist Nancy sent a possible solution to your ticket email a few days ago.

Could you please check your inbox, try the suggested steps, and then reply to that email rather than updating this forum post?

This will allow our specialist to continue investigating the issue with you.

Thanks,

@Javad_Saberi
Thanks for confirming that you’ve reviewed the solutions sent to you via the ticket email.

I’ll make sure your comment is shared with the specialist handling your ticket. If anything else comes up regarding this issue, please continue the conversation by replying directly to the email thread with our specialist. I’ll go ahead and close this topic for now.

Thank you for your understanding!

Just in case, I’ve included an excerpt from your ticket (#1552209) below. Our team is waiting on your reply—please respond to the ticket email with an update on how things are going.

I noticed that there are three "invalid assets" in your Design System file currently. Can you please check the publishing modal and resolve any invalid assets (image below), as these will prevent a successful library publish?

?name=Screenshot+2025-10-20+at+3.34.48%E2%80%AFPM.png

Click on each to be directed to the component in your file where you'll see an error in the right-hand panel with more information.

Once you've resolved each, please try publishing your library once more to see if this fixes the problem.
