Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create an instance of any component.

  2. Apply a scale transformation to it.

  3. Modify one of its dimensions in the right panel.

  4. Observe how the other dimension changes.

Hey @senurich, thanks for flagging this and outlining the steps to reproduce this bug.

I’m checking in to see if this issue is still coming up. I tested on version 125.4.9 of the Figma Desktop app and wasn’t able to reproduce — resizing in the right panel worked as expected on scaled instances in my test file. If the issue persists, please make sure the app is up to date.

If that doesn’t resolve it, here are a few things that would be helpful to check:

  • Are any overrides applied to the instance?
  • Is auto layout applied?
  • Is fixed width or height enabled?
  • Does this happen in the desktop app, the browser, or both?

Let me know what behavior you’re seeing and what you expected instead — happy to help dig in further. 🙏🏻

Hey, Tom.

Using lates figma client. I’ve attached a gif with minimal repro.

Hey @senurich, appreciate you confirming and for providing the GIF — very helpful. I followed along and when I drag my cursor over width field under Dimensions, the copied rectangle width adjusted horizontally.
