Hey everyone!

I’ve hit a bit of a snag and could really use some collective brainpower. Every time I dive into Figma (doesn’t matter if it’s the web or desktop app), my screen starts freaking out with these wild lines and noise, then just gives up and crashes. 🤯 It’s like a digital abstract painting I never asked for. This glitchy party is a Figma-exclusive event, doesn’t happen with any other apps.

It happens 5 seconds after I open any Figma file

Anybody knows what could be the issue?

Hey @Orest_Bas, sorry to hear this is happening!

What OS are you using? Can you please also try the following troubleshooting steps to see if they help at all?

  • Clear your browser/desktop app’s cache

  • Un-install and re-install the desktop app

Here’s how to clear the desktop app cache on a Mac:

  1. Quit the Figma desktop app

  2. Open Terminal.app and enter the following command: rm -rf “$HOME/Library/Application Support/Figma/”{Desktop,DesktopProfile}

  3. Try opening the desktop app again

Here’s how to clear the desktop app cache on Windows:

  1. Close the Figma desktop app

  2. Open the Start menu, and paste in this, followed by enter: %APPDATA%\Figma

  3. In the window that opens, delete the Desktop and DesktopProfile folders if they exist

  4. Launch the desktop app again
