Question

Transparent pixels in gradient png export

Ferenc_Nagy

Our team were trying to export assets for us what we are going to use in a game engine. However discovered whenever we export gradient image as png, it has lot of transparent pixels. It doesnt happen with flat color or if we duplicate the image 2 times and apply the same gradient although i dont think that should be the right solusion. Any fix or guess?

Does the frame you’re exporting have a background fill? If so, can you make sure this is checked:

Does your gradient fill go from solid to transparent? A screenshot with the properties panel might be helpful here. Thanks!

I just ran into this issue myself. I changed a frame’s background from a solid color to a linear gradient (two stops, both at 100% opacity), but the exported PNG contains unexpected transparent pixels.

Using an online transparency checker, it clearly shows the semi-transparent pixels.

This appears to be a bug. Adding a second solid fill layer to the frame does NOT fix it. The only workaround I’ve found is to set the frame’s fill to a solid color and apply the gradient on a separate layer—adding unnecessary complexity to the layer stack.

Since this is an older thread and not in the Report a Problem category, I created a new topic over there:
