Toggle layer visibility bug?

I’m experiencing a very strange and specific bug with the Layers panel visibility toggle.

What happens

  1. I click the eye icon on any layer to hide it, this works normally.
  2. After that single click, if I simply hover the mouse over other layer names (not on their eye icons), those layers also turn off one by one.
  3. The only way to stop it is to click anywhere on the screen.
  4. It feels like the “click and drag to multi-toggle visibility” feature is getting stuck in the “button still held down” state after a normal click.

It happens in every file (not file-specific).

A friend checked on his machine and does not have this issue, so it appears to be local to my setup.

When it started

I was working normally. I left the computer running for about 2 hours (no updates, no crashes, nothing unusual). When I returned, the bug was there and has stayed ever since.

What I’ve already tried

  • Restarted the PC
  • Cleared Figma cache
  • Tested in different browsers + Incognito
  • Unplugged my mouse, launchpad and XP-Pen tablet
  • Confirmed it’s not Windows ClickLock

Nothing has fixed it.

I recorded a short video that clearly shows the behavior.

Has anyone else run into something like this? Any ideas what could cause the Layers panel to get stuck in multi-toggle mode after a normal click?

Hello everyone! Thank you all for your patience while our team investigated the issue. This has now been resolved - you’ll want to refresh if you are using the browser, and make sure you’re using the latest version of the desktop app (go ahead and reload your tabs if you already are). When I toggle the visibility (eye icon) of any layer in the Layers panel, and then just move my cursor over other layers, their visibility automatically changes (they hide or show) as if I clicked on them This happens in all files and even after reinstalling the app, It started after the recent update. post scriptum: This issue affects all binary toggles in the Layers panel - visibility (eye icon) and lock (padlock icon) When I hover over any layer after toggling one, the corresponding action (hide/show or lock/unlock) applies automatically.

I just noticed that in addition to the visibility toggle, the same behavior is happening with the lock layer toggle.

Thank you for the quick turnaround on this! I was able to verify that this is fixed on my end, at least! Hopefully the same is true for everyone else as well!

Shutting down and restarting the desktop app worked for me. That was driving me nuts. 😩

Hey @Mandy Hui - that’s unfortunate that you’re seeing that again. Which browser are you using, and if you try another one does it work as expected? Also, Are you still actually seeing this (I ask because it’s been a couple days since your replies)?

Hi, thank you for your reply :) I think it is fixed, I just didn’t reload that file that’s all.
