Hei, I discover interaction between normal text and text with underline not work. One component is normal text the other is with underline. At first the hover effect worked without text input changing. When I changed text in the instance, then interactive effect disappeared.
Hey there,
can you try reloading your prototype and maybe share a file. It works on my end!

Hi,
I’m experiencing the same issue…
When using a ‘hover’ interaction, the variant of the component is showing but not the underlining of the text. Is there a solution for this?
Thanks
This is still an issue - 1 year later.
Can this bug be prioritised please?
Hello? Still an issue. Having trouble in my usability testing, because underline on font does not show in prototype for some reason.
Same problem here! Please fix this Figma team 🙏
I’m still having issues with this?
I am still having this exact issue, someone help D:
We’re facing this same issue on link-style CTA components. What’s weird is that it’s only an issue when the hover variant removes the underline. It works fine if the hover effect adds an underline.
Essentially we have a component where:
- The Default state has an underlined text-label
- On-hover, we switch to a variant without the underline and change the text colour
- When we create an instance of this component, and don’t override anything the interaction works as expected
- BUT if we override the label e.g. from “Label” to “Read more” the underline is not removed on hover. What’s weird is the colour still changes but the underline inconceivably sticks around
What’s even weirder is that if we swap the states (no underline by default, and underline on hover) everything works perfectly as expected.
Wild that this is still a bug more than 3 years later!
Still not fixed
Very annoying to have this issue since 3 years
Make sure when you hover over the text layer (on design mode) is shows the link on a tooltip, if you select the layer you also should see this icon in blue, this is what matter, not the visual with the underline

Nonetheless, you can try this:
- Select the object (text layer)
- select the prototype tab
- add interaction trigger to on click and action to open link
Still same issue :(
Also struggling with this! Please fix
I’m back--for those struggling with this, I found that my issue was fixed by breaking the assigned text style I had in the component.
My component had a default state (a text style defined by me), then when I hovered, I wanted that text style to modify and become underlined.
I think the system had a problem overriding the text style to underline? I broke the link and now it all works well. Still a pain that I have to disconnect styles for this to work...

Thanks for this!
Yes - breaking the style on the hover state did work for me too.
In addition I then went in and created a new text style that also had an underline.
I then linked it on the hover state - it works perfectly.
