I am unable to do anything on any file in Figma Make - hoping I can restore functionality - of course I am pushing a deadline - so the “try again later” part is a) frustrating (try it now… try it now… how much later? and b) is this the only remedy?

Hey @JamesGraham — welcome to Figma Forum! Thanks for surfacing this and letting us know about the approaching deadline. I have some suggestions that will hopefully get you where you need to be.

We’re continuing to improve clarity around these scenarios, but here’s what’s happening: because Figma Make relies on generative models, a prompt can occasionally fail for unknown reasons.

If you’re still running into the error:

  1. Try duplicating the file and re-prompting in the copy.
  2. If that doesn’t work, wait a little longer before trying again.

If neither resolves the issue, our Product Support team can take a closer look into the file itself. When you reach out, please include:

You can also check this resource for more detail on error messages: Troubleshoot in Figma Make → Error messages.

Keep us posted on how things go, or if you notice any other unexpected behavior.

If Figma shows “try again later” and files are unresponsive, it’s likely a server issue. Check Figma’s status page , try a different browser or device, clear cache, or restart the app. If the problem is server-side, waiting may be necessary.
