Re-registration of deleted account

Hi, I deleted my account because I accidentally saved my last name incorrectly and I couldn't change it to be written exactly as my student id to be verified for the educational plan, However I'm currently trying to create a new account using the same email, and it sends me a message "your request has failed".... Why is this happening? and when will be the suitable time for signing up again as I am in the run-up to a deadline, and I’ve already tried 

  • Opening an incognito/private browsing window
  • Trying a different browser
  • Switching the wifi to mobile data
  • Disable any VPNs or browser extensions                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              as mentioned before, I hope someone from Figma can come across this as fast as possible please, thank you

I understand that you deleted your account to correct your name for Education verification, and now you’re running into a “your request has failed” error when trying to sign up again with the same email.

This can happen when an account has been very recently deleted, as it may take some time for that change to fully process on our end.

If you haven’t already, could you try signing up again now from a web browser and let me know if anything has changed?

Hi, I am having this issue too.

I created an account and then deleted it because was going to sign up through an organization. Now when I try to create a new account, it hits me with the “Your request has failed”.

Hey! I’m experiencing the same issue. I cannot re-register with the same e-mail address (deleted recently.) Even from an incognito window (Chrome), or a different browser (Safari) it doesn’t help and says the same error message “Your request has failed”. Could you look into this? Thank you!

Hi ​@AlizS, I'm sorry to hear you're running into the same issue. I understand you're trying to create a new account using an email address that was recently associated with a deleted account, but you're still seeing the "Your request has failed" message even after trying different browsers and an incognito window.

In some cases, when an account has been recently deleted, it can take a little time for that change to fully process on our end. Could you try again after 24 hours? That usually gives enough time for everything to clear, and you should then be able to reuse the same email address.

Should the issue continue after 24 hours, please submit a bug report through the Support Hub by following these steps:

Support Hub → Start a chat → Type "Report a bug, cannot create account" → Press Enter and follow the prompts.

When you submit the report, please also include the email address you're trying to use so the team can take a closer look.

hey ​@Celyn_L thank you for your reply. I would need to create the account very urgently, unfortunately I cannot wait 24 hours. I have opened a ticket in the troubleshoot method you mentioned. Can you look into this further? Thank you.

Since some time has passed, were you ever able to re-register using your previously deleted email address? If you’re still running into the same error, to be transparent, there is actually nothing we can do manually on the backend to speed up the process. Your best option right now is to wait. 

But once 24 hours has already passed, and since you’re already opened a ticket with support, please provide your ticket number. We will do our best to get you connected with the team on priority.
